How hold is my Mod. 41 ?

I just bought this pistol used yesterday and fired it this morning. Very good gun : Groups in 3 inches at 25 yards ! (On a rest, of course)
Its n° : A560XXX.
I know that there are here guies able to tell me how old is this gun ! Isn't it ?

Unfortunately, the slide (and only this part) has a blueing problem : it has copper-like red tints. What do you think it happened and what can I do ?

Appears to be made in 1979,so it's 31 years hold. ;-)
The slide may have been reblued at some point.

It should shoot a lot better than 3" at 25 yards. Experiement with different kinds of standard velocity ammo.

The "plumming" on the slide can be a result of the bluing solution makeup and/or slide metal composition reacting. Not unknown with S&W and some folks like it.
