How long for S&W repairs?

How long should I wait before I complain about time to replace my wife's J frame?

It as been 2 months now.

By report, warranty work seems to be returning faster than modifications and (especially) refinishing, but they seem pretty backlogged...try giving customer service a call and see if they know.

I just got a Time estimate form s&w to refinish my 460xvr and they quoted me ten months. But it's only a couple weeks he said for warranty work.

I just purchased a new 442-1 today with an April 14, 2014 test fire date. With such a current production date it seems like a replacement 442 for you should be available.

I sent my 642 in last July. Got the replacement in Nov. You may be in for a bit of a wait.

warrenty work turn around

I sent my 627 PC in before Memorial Day. They received it
May 23rd. I just got an e-mail today that it has shipped.
That is 5 working days if they had the holiday off. It needed the barrel replaced and the frame and cylinder refinished.

I called about having my own 627PC refitted with a fluted 8-shot cylinder. They quoted me eight months.

I had a little j-frame .38 (Al frame, Ti cylinder, etc) on which the barrel was not indexed correctly. Made it shoot off POI. Called them, they sent a shipping tag, sent it in.

It was back in about 2 weeks perfectly indexed. I know, very minor 'tweak', but it was quick.

I just sent a Performance Center 681 in today...........this thread has me worried. Should be all warranty work, but I think the finish is what is causing the issue. Hope it isn't more than a couple months.

Don't get warranty repairs confused with warranty replacement. The repairs seems to be around 2 weeks give or take. Replacement seems to be many months. I'm not sure why that is, but that's the way it seems to be. Also NON warranty work seems to be getting quoted to 10 months+

Tell them you want a refund and email your reciept to them. It beats waiting for another production run!

They just had to scrap my old 637 and replace with a new one. Have to go back and check when I posted on here last, but it was probably two months ago as well. I just got the replacement back this past weekend. But calling in to ask doesn't hurt, they were able to keep me informed and give a tracking number when it was finally out the door.
