How many guns do you carry at one time?

In Utah , can the rifle be loaded in your truck? Here in Pa it can't due to game laws.

Can't have one in the chamber. A few years ago, after several car jackings in the state, Utah passed a law stating that your car was an extension of your home and you could carry a handgun in the vehicle, concealed or open, fully loaded.

Surprisingly, the car jackings stopped almost immediately. Whaddya know? Who would've thought?:D

Usually I carry a Colt Commander LW in .38 Super with one reload. Often a Kahr .380 in right front pocket.

When I was working full time I carried two when I was in the field, issued handgun and a Model 342ti as backup. When I was in the office full time I usually only carried one (with the issued weapon and a Sig 552 in the car).

When I work part time now I carry the issued handgun and a Seecamp 32 in my back pocket.

Everyday I have the Seecamp in my pocket and a Sig P365 in the console and a S&W Model 940 in a car safe. I also usually carry a long gun in the vehicle. Currently a suppressed Sig Rattler SBR in 300 Blackout. Old habits are hard to break.

I usually just have an LCP II .380 in the truck and in the woods a Browning HP or Ruger Security Six 4" stainless .357 but I don't go to many places where I need more. I've been to most of the 50 states and I've seen several places where if I went back I would carry at least 3 guns, two knives, and some body armor.

One. If I'm in a high risk situation (which I never am), I might go with a back up. IMHO more than that would be really dumb.

On duty; one. Off duty; one.

I know it's not optimal but there's always more in the car. Once I get to my car I'll be alright...

Do you keep a gun safe in the Car.

2 - J Frames, 2 or 3 speed strips, pepper spray multi-tool and a flashlight. Plus a lot of other junk that I'm too lazy to type. Most everyday all day.

There used to be a guy in Michigan who had a website and was pretty well known, I guess. He was invited to speak at our LE state firearms trainers seminar 12 years or so ago, so he must have had a rep in those circles. He cancelled our event for some reason I can't recall.

Anyway, he was a retired cop from Detroit, and said he was a huge guy, maybe 300 pounds. He SAID he carried 8 guns on his person. (!!!) He didn't say what guns he carried or where on his body he carried them.

He was a bit of a strange guy, an anarchist (he said) and maybe religious. He didn't tolerate bad language or even initials for bad words. I got banned quickly; one of my sins was saying I was an FNG.

I don't know who he is/was and only assume he lived in MI because he retired from there. He had a kind of school or range and a few loyal followers.

On a daily basis, one. 38 Special M642 or Walther CCP 9mm. On an occasional, rare basis, two. Likely the second would be a Beretta 950 BS in 25 ACP. Out in the hunting woods, including the long gun, could be three.

Just One........ thou the ammo count can vary from

3" 65/66 with 6 + two reloads for 18 total

to

S&W 3913 7+1 with reloads of +8 or 16 (most common EDC in my Burb of the Burgh)

Around home and walking area I carry a (single) 642-1...sometimes with a speed strip in pocket but usually not.

In town or further out...one semi-auto with a spare mag.

I haven't felt the need to carry a second gun since I retired from law enforcement, and even then it wasn't the norm.

I just carry one, either a J frame or LCP, depending on how I'm dressed. I no longer go in harm's way and only pack a second J frame when we take a long car trip.

I'm lazy so I normally only carry 1 a 2 1/2 66 or LW Commander with reloads. ALWAYS. Stuff happens and mechanical things can malfunction so a New York reload is a great alternative. Plus if someone asks if you are carrying A gun you can truthfully say no. :-) Always have a knife.
