Hmmm...

A Google search of "posted by Seaforth" is not encouraging.

Haven't fired, but it has been displayed. And those who were on the receiving end of that display were convinced it would speak if the ydidn't behave. PD arrived, and it was over with.

I don't think a forum that anyone can read is where I would respond to a question like this.

I think I'll start a """poll""".....
How come low post count people do so many polls???
is it because..
1) they work for the anti's
1) they be mindin everybody elses bid ness
1) post whores

1) ask me how much money I make

Well said. Or it's none or your D*mn business.

Here’s one the trollers won’t publish.

The night after the night I got back from a particularly draining deployment I was exhausted and in bed, the Ex-wife hears something, I didn’t and just dismissed it, then she heard the front door, I didn’t she got pissed and made me get up. I always have a handgun on the headboard and just got a good hold on it when the bedroom door opened up with “the guy” backlit by my fish tank!

His hands had a screwdriver in one and a hammer in the other. I ordered him to the floor and he dropped the stuff and started calling me by the next door neighbor’s name. OK the threat level is way down and the name thing has me a bit puzzled, about then the EX is yelling at me to shoot him! He is pleading with me not to shoot and I’m trying to get her to call the cops! This little triangle went on for way to long and I think he may have s*%$ himself. I was trying to explain that you can’t just shoot the guy-threat level and all that, anyway when the cops got there I knew one of them and he told me if I had shot the guy I would have had to go to town and go thru all the stuff until probably the next day when they would have probably let me go.

So the guy goes to jail telling the cops he thought he was breaking into the next door neighbor’s house because it was a friend and he needed a place to stay, I went back to bed.

The next day the man next door tells me he saw the guy at a club that night and he was trying to borrow money to drink with and I should have shot the scumbag!

Oh well a couple days later I go into the package store (liquor store) and see the dude working stocking shelves. I told the owner the story and never saw the guy again.

It seems like a happy ending but the real happy ending was the divorce a year later and the current wife that it took 10 more years to meet! She was hard to get too, but that’s a different story.

What was the reason for chosing the word "posturing"?

It sounds a little troll-like to me; I hope that is not your intention.
Rereading the sentence, it looks like a word (or two) is left out(?) Maybe I just don't understand the meaning(?)

No doubt...can't quite follow the statement either. I know the question, but what is the feller trying to say there?
If I don't follow, I won't answer.

I APOLOGIZE FOR THE POST. MY WANTING SOME INFORMATION WAS POORLY STATED. I SIMIPLY WONDERING ABOUT A TOPIC I POORLY POSED.

Not yet but I have always had several large dogs and they live in the house. At least everyone in the neighborhood, the UPS man and a number of door to door salesmen have seen the dogs and don't care to meet them. I'm quite sure that if any of the sales types were casing for future robbery they decided that it wouldn't be worth the effort.

Well I wasn't going to even post in this thread but thought what the heck?
I've had to shoot to kill more than a few times from my front porch and also made more than a few killing shots inside my home.
I think a mans home is his castle and that includes the garbage cans.
So when some low life skunk decides to upset the cans and scatter it about, it's the end of the line for him.
The same goes for those masked coons!
And ground hogs and opossums have paid the aultimate price for crossing my fences!
I also had to do some killings inside the house too.
Once when adding an addition, a bat got in and was having a grand ol time terrorizing my wife and the kids.
It made the mistake of landing on a stud in the unfinnished room where I used a semi auto loaded for bear (colt woodsman loaded with cb cap) to end his terroriest acts.
Also had to use a red ryder bb gun on two other bats, one in the basement and one on the second floor bed room.
These things had to be done to protect the homestead.
I wont talk about the other killings that a man just don't talk about in public.
It's no ones buisness.
But the real reason I refuse to talk about these other killings is-------

I don't want to upset the cat lovers

Funny you would ask such a question. I have know servicemen who never discharge a weapon during a tour of duty in Viet Nam. How many cops go their entire career and never have to shoot in line of duty? I'll take all bets that they were glad they had a firearm and I promise you I prefer to own mine than the alternative.

The smart answer is that a "defense of your home" is not sufficient cause to discharge a weapon unless one is in fear for their life because the intruder is displaying a weapon in a threatening manner. I don't "posture" because no one knows what they will do until that moment of truth and one of my LEO sons was also lucky to have never needed to fire his weapon in the LOD in 20 years of service and probably 1000 car stops.

no need to apoligize sir, maybe if you'd stated it differently at the start. some folk jus dont like putting all their stuff out in the open, like how may shotguns, rifles, handguns you own .I shoot in my back yard a lot, the guy across the road does a fair amount of plinkin and a neighbor a bit to the south spends a lot of time in his sand pit.Point is I and all the neighbors know they have firearms and wouldn't put myself in the position of having a gun drawn on us.so maybe I have ,by shooting and the neighbors knowing I'm armed.

No need to apologize. If I didn't like your darn question I would not have answered it. I have done my share of screw ups on this forum, I have said things on this forum that didn't come out the way I intended them to, and there have been time I regret having my fingers hit the keyboard before engaging my brain. I have never intended to offend anyone and I am sure you didn’t but sometime it just happens. I answered your question because the question didn’t bother me, but if anyone didn’t like the question they had the right to keep quite. It was nice of you to take the time to send me a private email but I just don’t get tick off about things said on the internet. We gun owners don’t need to take the time and effort it takes to get ticked off at each other, we spend our time getting ticked of at the true enemy, groups like the Brady bunch. It would serve us better to get angry with the gun grabbers than getting angry with a fellow gun owner that is in this fight with us to keep our gun rights.
