How many trick or treaters do you have?

I win - Every year we treat about 2000. My son is responsible for attracting the mob.

We have been here 18 years and have had 5 trick or treaters. Single lane, non-lighted, dead end private road to our house. Homes on 1/2 acre to 5 acre lots so they are spread out a bit.

Thinking about taking the rv to a nearby campground for the weekend. Maybe there will be some trick or treaters in the campground.

We have it 2 nights (Fri & Sat this year), and expect maybe 200 a night.

Of course, when I was in high school, I'd put a werewolf outfit on and scare kids. We shaved down the number of kids that would come after that... I haven't done it since I went to college, but it's time to start up again, methinks.

I live in a gated and guarded community mostly made up of recent retirees, so not many trick or treaters around here. Oh well, more candy for me.

Few if any, it's quite a hike from my house to the neighbors. Kids seem to stay where the houses are closer together...

I have one trick-or-treater.

I'll get about 20-30 more on Halloween. It's a trek down to our house so I try to have some good stuff for them. This year it's Halloween-themed Pez dispensers, glow ropes, small cans of Play-Doh, chocolate vampire teeth, chocolate eyeballs, and mini boxes of candy.

Each year 1 buy about a dozen full size Mounds and Almond Joy bars. Then after we turn the lights out about 9:00pm, my wife and I fight over how to split them between us !! :D

If it were up to me, no one would have any! I have a strong dislike for halloween. I think door to door trick or treating should be illegal. I'm not sure just how many come around. Maybe 50. I always make sure to take my share out of the bowl beforehand!
Don, you must live in an area with lots of houses and lots of kids! 350-400? Wow!

We probably got a hundred last year. I love it when the little ones come to the door all dressed up. My kids are past trick or treating age, but some of my best memories are taking them around to get their candy. I appreciate all the folks who decorated their houses and gave out candy even though it may have stretched their budgets.

we lock the gate and turn out the lights....BAH HUMBUG!!!

AMEN!!!!

Halloween died in my neighborhood years ago. Few kids come around...those that do come in cars.

In my neighborhood, it is not a good idea to A) go out at night; B) go out to strangers at the fence. When I go to the door after dark for a knock, I take "precautions" (usually of the M28-2 or Browning High Power kind)

Welcome to life in the 21st century in suburban America

we lock the gate and turn out the lights....BAH HUMBUG!!!

What you said!

We leave and go shopping. This neighborhood is full of kids but they skip the houses where no lights are showing. The whole thing is over by 8:00 pm.

Actually, three or four years ago when we last participated we got a bunch of Mexicans that don't live around here. They would show up a dozen at a time and all of the adults and children had candy sacks. Hell with it.

In the area I live in all of us are on a minimum of 2 1/2 acres.... evidently too far apart for the city dwelling kids. I could have bought ONE candy bar 15 years ago and I would still have it !!!

My wife will take a bit of candy to the several neighborhood kids on Halloween, but other than that, we don't participate. There is virtually no one in this neighborhood that actually goes trick or treating, but there are hundreds of messkin kids that come up from south Dallas. I figure my tax dollars support enough of these illegals, no need to give 'em free candy, too.
