How much ammo...

Are some of you actually implying that you think it's offensive to ask how much ammo you have stocked up? Lol if you are serious... this making me lose sleep in laughter. We are not speaking about anything illegal here people, get over yourself and quit your b****ing. I'm not asking about Blow.

And for the record, it is clearly the topic I anticipated with the responses I've Seen this far, and am surprised with the participation.

My point is, finding it interesting how different people, in different places, and different perceptions on things, may stock ammo differently by the way they accept theIt rights.

Me, I live in literally "one of the safest cities in the entire USA, therefore I may think having 500 rounds makes me feel good. Yet, Joe Shmo out west in Compton may think 20,000 rounds makes them sleep well at night. This is where i saw this going.

No one seriously stock piles ammo for the apocalypse. You aren't going to be driving around in a truck full of food, water & ammo for very long, you'll be ambushed & killed if you dont run out of gas. Unless you are bugging in home & supplying a small militia style army, you can only carry so much. Then there is all the $$$ you spend on ammo you may ever use. Stocking up for a shortge is wise, for an apoc, probably need a better plan.

.. Is in your house?

I figured I would spark what could be an interesting topic, going deeper into your reasoning. Are you a weekend shoot R where you pick up some ammo fire it, and then are done, going home to a full magazine of hollow points for those "just in case situations".OR, are you the doomsday prepper with enough ammo to fight a mini war?

I am curious to understand what others have in their "inventory" and why?

ME: I personally I am rather new to guns, so I keep enough ammo in stock to cover always my next range trip, and to handle if anything comes me way. ;)[/QU

I HAVE A TUBE OF BBs FOR MY DAISY, RED RIDER LEVER GUN…….

I keep about five hundred cleaned prepped and primed cartridges of each caliber. Load them as I need them. Enough to feed all my guns except of course the .22's

This is about right for me too. I find it easier to keep this amount constant as I try to borrow ammo when I'm on the range. :p

I find the more I shoot, the more I need to have. Maybe I am getting addicted? Do I need help? I only have a few hundred rounds now, but I have friend that can reload for me, if I save my brass.

I do not, cannot, have enough. There is always a need for at least a little more.

I have thousands of hulls ready to reload for shot shells. It's not enough.
I have at least a couple thousand pistol cases ready to go. It's not enough.
I have several thousand rifle casings ready to reload. It's not enough.
I don't know how many loaded shot shells, pistol and rifle cartridges I have ready to go. It's not enough.

If I were to shoot as much as I liked, the number would total several thousand rounds a month. Alas, money and a side business keep me from reaching my shooting desires. Still, there can never be enough ammo.

Many years ago I gave a Taurus Model 85 to my son-in-law, along with a box of 50 rounds of 38 Special because the only thing he kept around for defense of my daughter and their children was a baseball bat. He still has the gun, and the box of 50. I'll bet there are lots of folks like that, but they don't come to this forum.

I tend to buy by the case to get a better price and try to keep a supply of 6+ months or so of average shooting on hand. For me that works out to 1500-2000 rounds of most calibers i have plus 3-4K of .22

I have what I call an "ammo starter set".....more than enough to cause my anti-gun neighbor to either faint or require a diaper change, but I'm probably a box or two short of causing him to do both simultaneously.:D

I have fifty pounds of lead ingots, moulds, a lead pot and dipper and several pounds of powder and a couple yards of pillow ticking...Also, a couple large flint nodes...In addition, I have a spear, tomahawks and knives and a good broadsword...So, I'm ready for repelling boaders.

I have millions of rounds of all kinds of different calibers.
I keep them stored at various stores around town and the Internet.
I just give them the secret numbers off my plastic member card and they send it right to me.
Couldn't be easier!

plenty!

seriously though, I am pretty sure its bad etiquette to ask people on an open forum how many guns they have or how much ammo they have, even if you are a long time member.

I AGREE, Kurac. NEITHER THE QUESTION NOR THE ANSWERS DO ANYTHING TO ENLIGHTEN US. THERE IS NO NEED TO MAKE A TARGET OF YOURSELF, BY STATING THAT YOU ARE SITTING ON A PILE OF AMMO…..
