How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

Interesting how as 2012 progressed, the price of the Shield went higher for most of us. I paid $420. plus tax and shipping for the 9mm but very happy to have received one about last September; nice gun that shoots well, easy take down and clean, fits my pocket or under the belt and likes several brands of ammo, even my lead handloads cycle fine.
Way to go S&W -

hello, I am a new member and have been following this thread.
just went to my 1st gun show and it was really super!
also went to my LGS for a 9mm shield and/or SD9VE, was told to be prepared to wait 1 year! WOW! got any 9mm ammo? NO!
guess i am late to the party, oh well, better late than NEVER! THANKS!

Xknightrider -- I'm really sorry to hear that you have the mag drop problem. Get in touch with Customer Service and get a mailer so that they can get that fixed and back to you soonest!

Just curious, do you know your date of manufacture?

Either from the date on your fired casing envelope or from the 4 digit code on the box -- "2XXX" where "2" stands for 201"2" and "XXX" represents the date from 001 to 366, where 001 = Jan 1, 2012 and 366 = Dec 31, 2012.

I believe they had a fix in place sometime in August or September (just guesswork, no official times have been released), so if yours has the mag drop problem, it could help narrow down the date before they had an effective "fix" in place -- or, if it's a recent mfr date, it may mean that the fix isn't bullet-proof.

In any case, it would give us a little more information about a truly disappointing manufacturing glitch.

Thanks.

9mm ammo is hard to come by these days...and very pricey. Maybe in 6-9 months (after Obama) sorts his gun stuff out, then we may see 'some' relief. They are very serious about 'ammo' restrictions...be ready...it ain't gonna go away...they are gonna back door us on this one....

$427.00 tax included from my LGS. Added Ameriglo Night Sights and bought extra magazines for it. Bought it in November of 2012. Now have almost 4000 rounds through it with only a couple of FTF and FTE ammo related.

THANKS FOR THE INFO SKIP!

Wow, most are still getting good prices. I put my name on the list at a LGS last month and he said the last ones he had sold for $439 but not sure how much the next batch would be. He got 40 of them in yesterday and charged me $499. Too high but I paid it. :o

I started looking 6 mo ago for 2 MP Shields in .40 S&W nothing yet and I'm on 4 waiting lists in W. MA.

$539 +tax. Here in ft.Myers Fl. I know I pay way too much for it, but everybody is paying that price like is going out of style.

I around the bought my 9MM at a local show in Marion IL o 1-18-13 for $600. It was the ONLY one in the building as far as I could tell. I looked around the region for a couple of months, to no avail. A little high on the price, but that afternoon I watched two of them close on Gunbrokers for north of $700. According to the code on the box it was manufactured 11-19-12, and hasn't exhibited any mag drop issues. I'm on a list with the LGS and will buy the next available.

$449 + tax ... but asked me how long I waited?

ummm .... two days. not bad and well worth the price and yes I was lucky to walk in the door and find they had an order coming in. just had no idea it would be the next day
