How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

Bought one for the Wife and another one for myself for $419.00 +tax. High demand here in Michigan but I was lucky to have gotten them from the same dealer just a couple weeks apart. Only regret is that I didnt get them in 40cal.

Called Local gun shop on Jan. 21 they had no shields in stock and did not know when they would receive any.I asked if I could be put on a waiting list he said sure and took my information.Saturday Jan.26 he called to advise me he had some 9mm's come in and if I still wanted one? with in minutes my wife and I went to the shop and each of us got one. The price was 479.00 plus tax.My ten month search was finally over.

I wonder when that shop actually ordered them. My dealer has had a standing order since well before Christmas and hasn't seen any.

This last weekend, $499.00 for a 9mm M&P Shield-includes SSE fee, less DROS, less tax. VERY hard to find in Kalifornia. Lucky stars and a very astute sales woman at my LGS.

$449 plus $25 shipping from Cabela's. Shipping from out of state to my LGS and picking up tomorrow. Was on the wait list less than 2 months.

Anxious as all get out to get to the range with it.

$404.10 from local dealer on 1/29/13. Very happy to finally find one. 9mm

9mm $399 OTD (got on a no tax weekend sale)

Now sells for $469 at same store...

Xknightrider -- I'm really sorry to hear that you have the mag drop problem. Get in touch with Customer Service and get a mailer so that they can get that fixed and back to you soonest!

Just curious, do you know your date of manufacture?

Either from the date on your fired casing envelope or from the 4 digit code on the box -- "2XXX" where "2" stands for 201"2" and "XXX" represents the date from 001 to 366, where 001 = Jan 1, 2012 and 366 = Dec 31, 2012.

I believe they had a fix in place sometime in August or September (just guesswork, no official times have been released), so if yours has the mag drop problem, it could help narrow down the date before they had an effective "fix" in place -- or, if it's a recent mfr date, it may mean that the fix isn't bullet-proof.

In any case, it would give us a little more information about a truly disappointing manufacturing glitch.

Thanks.

Mine is an HADXXXX built 9-18-12, just got it back from S&W CS with notes:

1. Pins Replaced
2. Replace Mag Catch
3. Test Fired/Meets Spec

Only thing was they forgot to ship back my 7rd mag, they said it show only checked in with the 6rd but I definitely sent both as they instructed me to do so! I called in and they apologized for the mix up and will rush me a 7rd out today. Time to get to the range and confirm the fix.

Good luck - let us know how it works out.

449.99 in .40. Can't complain about paying MSRP after looking for the last 6 months.

$449.99 + 8.3% sales tax. M&P Shield 40. Put my name on a list back in April 2012 ! ! They were listing for $417 at the time. Just got the call (I was the 2nd name on their list) January 28th, 2013 ! ! Lucky me, two days before my birthday. Picked it up the 29th and shot it on the 30th, my birthday. Fabulous pistol. No Mag issues, one FTF in the beginning and one FTE on the first mag. Otherwise, accurate and trouble free the rest of the first 100 rounds. All I shot for the day.

I missed out on that one but got one a few days later down the street at Riley's.

Sweet! How much was Riley's letting them go for? 9 or 40? I bought my XD-S at Rileys...about 40 more dollars than Shooters is getting for them now.

I like both shops :)
