I watched a 50 round box of .38 Super sell for $35 in my favorite pawn shop today...
...Ben

I hoarded lead a number of years ago, but the supply is dwindling. Here, wheel weights aren't lead any more. Lead prices online make buying bullets more cost effective than casting myself.
Kinda sorta similar situation here only with .32 S&W Long.About 4 weeks ago I paid $90. for 3 boxes of .32 Auto. Yesterday I didn't see any for sale. I waited too long too buy but since there is none available now I believe I got a bargain. If next week they are for sale at 3 boxes for $10. I'll just laugh and say it's not the first time I've thrown away $80. Larry
I guess i'll just sell everything now or put a curb alert in CL. Then I'll see if i can get a reservation at the nursing home.
Gee I hope the don't discontinue TV!
While I agree that the prices always come back down I don't necessarily think they come back down to pre-panic levels.I haven't seen much evidence of that. Attendance at matches is down but mostly due to COVID restrictions. The guys that shoot matches usually seem to have a pretty good stockpile and many of them are still shooting.
The prices we are seeing now are panic prices. This is not the new normal. Every time there is a shortage I read posts about how prices will never come down but they always have. It might take a year but this too shall pass.
I think that rampant inflation will not only affect ammo in the coming years. Once the supply of ammo reaches a near saturation point, the prices will come down. Nobody knows how much. Of course any pending legislation affecting the ability to purchase ammo or a tax would greatly affect the price. While I agree that the prices always come back down I don't necessarily think they come back down to pre-panic levels.

beaverislander;140966654]I wouldn't worry about that...the TV's will all probably locked on CNN.
That'd be enough to make you wish for the reaper to come.
There's been plenty of talk on shutting down online purchasing, and we do see that already in place in several states. It wouldn't shock me if they pushed it through, or at least tried to.I think that rampant inflation will not only affect ammo in the coming years. Once these high prices and shortages calm down a federal or state tax on ammo is next. Then a tax on the ownership on assault weapons.
People are tired of all this, cant take it they can only take so much before they react in an uncivilized way I can see it coming especially with the new administration
Or as Mark Twain said: "History doesn't repeat itself, butI'm at a lucky junction; bullet caster, reloader, and have a superb supply of powder and primers. My supply is so good that at 72, I'm set for life and plan on there being a very small estate sale.
If you don't learn from history, the ride never changes.
