How would you handle this situation?

I love my Kubaton stock on my key ring. Always in hand when exiting stores and/or easy to deploy and close at hand.

I try to gas in safe parts of town early morning. Try and use good judgement and awareness in general.

My spidey senses faile me and someone gets the drop on me?

Hopefully is cold, I'm wearing my coat and going thru my annual Snubbie lovfest...in the coat pocket is about best equalizer I can hope for... otherwise it's fight or flight.

You never, EVER, allow yourself to be taken to another location. Better to try for a distraction and then use Krav type techniques, i.e. push the weapon off your center line while moving your body away, and fight like hell where you are than to be taken somewhere else to be killed. The "somewhere else" is where the LEOs always find the body later.

Play fool and act as scared as possibile, let him take me away for a few steps and then throw something around me at him and run in a zig zag pattern or run behind cover if he tries to shoot at me as once he fires as I've just gotta stay alive for about 3 - 5 minutes for the cops and everyone else to come, provided I wasnt stupid enough to get jumped in a bad part of town where no one would call the cops and forget my carry gun or a backup .25

and at the very least try and call the police with a cell phone or pay phone once I ditch him or get far enough away to call without getting shot.

either that or do the first thing and then jump him when his guard is down, although atleast If I ran he wouldnt be able to hit me as well as he could close up, better to run tail and be alive tommorw vs play rambo and be dead in the next five minutes.

It's more likely that I would forget my pants than my weapons. Assuming I did, it's hard to say what one would do. How well you could think and act is subject to many variables. There is no way to know until you are in that situation. Tactics would also vary depending on distance and the weapon involved and etc.

When I was a new Patrolman on a city department, a older officer was dispatched to a "car in ditch" call. It turned out the car was being driven by a guy who had just killed his wife in the next city over. The officer approached the subject with his guard down and the guy pointed a firearm at him and demanded his weapon. The officer complied. The officer wound up handcuffed in his patrol car. When the subject was finally cornered, he shot the officer in the head and then killed himself.

Whenever I worked with a partner, we always agreed that one would never let the other be taken hostage. I would rather take my chances at being shot while resisting or running away. These days, most gunshot wounds are survivable and its very possible the guy or gal would not really fire or would miss...I taught my daughter to NEVER allow herself to be taken away by anybody like that. The only thing I can say for sure is I am not going with somebody as a hostage. I believe I would rather die fighting than on my knees begging for mercy from someone who has none.

I'm kind of an old geezer, so I'd fake a heart-attack (or actually have one!!!), keel over, and lay there twitching and moaning and drooling. If the BG came close enough I'd take him down, mash his nuts into a pulp and rip his eshophagus out.
