Hundreds of holster questions..Here is another.

First, I snubbed the hammer spur off. I dont know why they put them on a snub anyway. For the pocket you also dont want adjustable sights either. I wore levis most the time. I always wore tough pants. Sure their is some lightweight cheap stuff that might give you a problem. I used to wear a issue coat that had a built in gun pocket and strap. Also had a leather motorcycle coat with one. Come to think of it many years ago (close to 50) I had a canvas vest also had a pocket for a snubnose. All those jackets had a snapstrap over the built in holster. To me a snub is built for the pocket. If you are going to wear a gun in a holster you might as well carry a 4 inch!

If your model 60 is what I think it is, it is a 357 mag and came with a rubber grip that is rather large compared to the rubber boot grip. If that is correct, I always change to a smaller grip, like what we call the service grip.I had one in 357 for about 3 yrs, went back to an airweight, for I do pocket carry. I have a fanny pack, but seldom use it, but I never say never, so I keep it and other things around. I have a book like thing , looks like a sip up planner, but you open it to find a holster and mag holster. the book is ok some days, not others. There is a T Shirt made by 5.11 or someone, has cloth pocket under each arm, could be worn under another shirt, say an unbuttoned casual shirt, etc. I have carried for years, always like to hide it, even when I was a LEO for 9 yrs, tried a lot of things in front of mirrors over the years. I am not fan of the ankle really. I usually carry in front pocket in summer.

How do you guys carry a J Frame in your pocket without it poking holes through the bottom of your pocket? That's the only reason I carry in Mika holser. I was sick of all my rt. front pants pockets having holes in them.

Airweight Model 432 or 642 in an Uncle Mike's #3 works great for me in everything from dress pants to Dockers and jeans (Wranglers). Sure, the very top of the grip is visible if you look straight down on top of my pocket, but if you're that close, well, that's a different issue.

Hi,

I've carried the nickle-plated equivalent to your M60, a Model 36 no dash concealed before, it it works "ok" for those purposes.

However, I got an Airweight (aluminum framed) version of the same gun (Model 37) and was stunned by the difference in how much easier it is to carry it concealed!

I carry the M37 in a pocket holster (Uncle Mike's #3), though the Mika and the Desantis Nemesis are both rated a tad better for this purpose.

Honestly, I just pop the gun and holster in the front pocket and FORGET IT! It is NEVER a problem walking around with it concealed this way.

BTW, I would NEVER toss my M37 in the pocket without the holster's protection . . . because I value my guns continuing to look great! This blued M37 no dash was made in 1971 and I've been toting it this way for over a year now and it still looks perfect!

GRIPS ARE IMPORTANT . . .

The big, soft "rubbers" are great for plinking on the range, but tend to grip fabric and such . . . making the gun print more. Not good! Just like when deer hunting, IF you ever have to touch off a few rounds in self defense you will NOT feel the gun kick at all!!!

So, I use either the stock grips, or Elk Stags by Grashorn Gunworks. The Tyler T-grip makes shooting either type a true pleasure too . . . it REALLY takes out the bite and keeps the gun properly indexed too for fast, double action shooting!!!

FOR THE HEAVIER M36 . . . either a Mitch Rosen OWB holster . . . which is the BEST holster I've ever used. It forms against the body AND the gun so well that it seems to make the gun's weight disappear and the gun tucks in really nice and tight too! As you can see, I'm left-handed.

I've got a nice Kramer IWB holster too for a J-frame . . . but IWB carry is NOT for me. With my weighty build, the damn thing just digs into my side. For you though, IWB might work fine. With IWB holsters it's usually either love . . . or hate. Also, with IWB holsters, plan on getting pants and belt a size LARGER . . . a big expense, IMHO.

Hope this helps,
