I am shocked, disgusted, and sick to my stomach...

Someone posted a picture of this monstrosity last year.
Until then i did'nt even know those things existed.
Talk about an Ugly Weapon.:eek::eek::eek:
I think the Zombie weapons, ammo, etc. and those who
buy this ilk are the same people who still live in Mommas
basement somewhere. The ones who are afraid of a
Zombie Apocalypse and buy this **** are wearing their
CCW badges on chains hanging down in front of their
"punisher" T-shirts and patrolling the local Mall. :p:p:p
Remember, if someone will buy it
then someone will make it.

Chuck

which is true ... of course, if one made a stock pile of something, its also in inventory until the mistake can be sold out

The lever needs to be redesigned perhaps a horizontal attachment right angled to the barrel so people can work the action and fire quickly - every pull of the handle would fire one round. The hammer needs to be bobbed to make it a DAO. Outside of a laser and red dot optic sight, perfect zombie rifle.

BTW, it will probably become a collectable in 50 years.

Remember that thread, Chuck? We all had a good laugh. But you know what? Mossberg spent some R&D $ into planning and producing that lever gun, so obviously the company felt there was a market for it. It couldn't be solely based on making a cosmetic "zombie" gun. Heck, how many times have you heard a person criticize the legendary Bodyguard "Humpback" design? Or the 242 and 296? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I saw several of these "tactical" lever guns at a show, and aside from the mid-$500 pricing, the rifle looked to made well, and didn't appear as ugly in person. In 30-30, I have zero interest, but in a large pistol caliber (.44 Mag or .45 LC) I'd pick one up. Ugly as sin? Yes, but if it functions properly and is quality built, it would make for a very useful fighting or defense tool.

We have been seeing more and more of this the past few plus years. Some of this stuff will shoot, without a doubt-- but just has no class. I wont mention any names. :)

Turnbull TAR-40 .308 Rifle[/QUOTE]

Ok, now there is something that brings one to mind of Hillary Clinton on a nude beach asking random passer bys to rub lotion on her back so she can get an all over tan.

Gather the eggs and tomatoes before you read further.
All that has been done to that gun is to make it more functional.
I really like the stock on that one---it should have been done a long time ago.
Blessings

Another note for you anti Zombie guys. I guess you have not figured it out, but the zombie thing is a marketing tool to bring products to the market that have the same functionality as military style firearms without the anti military spin that the main stream media puts on evil black rifles.

Zombie stuff is obviously not military, and green is not black.

No one can stand up and with a straight face say "this is a military weapon and we need to get it off the street".

Anything that makes the life of the anti gun folks harder is fine with me.

I don't like it, and don't want one, but I don't give a hoot if someone else wants one. It's ok with me.

When you come right down to it, what's wrong with it? If you're going to drag a rifle around in a ORV, 4x4, tin boat, patrol car, what do you need a pretty stock for? If you want a pretty stock there are plenty of options already.

If it sells, they'll keep making it. If it doesn't they'll stop.

Hadn't seen that before, thank heavens, and I'm sorry to have seen it now. Kind of looks like manufacturing division was working in haste from a set of badly folded engineering drawings. I'm trying to visualize a resolution of forces diagram at the moment of discharge, and I just see a bunch of arrows pointing in different and mostly unnecessary directions. Isn't there some design principle about form following function? Maybe Mossberg's management misheard the word as "fashion."

BTW, did anyone ever come across that monster movie Sharktopus? The front 10 feet of a great white backed up by equally large writhing tentacles behind. I guess it had a mouth at either end. It reminded me of an oceanic pushmi-pullyu, maybe the kind you would see under the effects of profound datura intoxication.

I didn't stay with the flick long enough to dope out details of the creature's metabolism and life cycle, so you're on your own if you are curious.

Lipstick on a pig

Wait. Nevermind I don't want it-doesn't have a forward assist or a dust cover :D
Hi Caj,
I expect an AR to be a little on the ugly side. A pig looking like a pig.
The Turnbull gun is a pig in lipstick, push up bra and a thong.
Now maybe only if it was chrome?
Thanks
Mike

Nothing wrong with a pig in lipstick, push up bra and a thong as long as you don't wake up next to it. ;)

This thread brings back old memories. Just hope no company ever makes a revolver that has a flat cylinder and fires from the bottom chamber.

Would like something nice to look at, perhaps someday someone will make a mailbox that looks like a S&W revolver. I know it's crazy talk, but I believe.

I'm glad to see that most of us have the same opinion of this travesty. To me, it's just like the motorcycle helmets that are shaped like Nazi army helmets. If you see someone who owns one, you know what what they are, a GOOSE!
