I hope all goes well for you! Pneumonia is nothing to mess around with. My wife came down with pneumonia following a surgery, then developed a pulmonary embolism...she was in ICU for over a month in a medically induced coma, while they were trying to get her past it. The doctors weren't sure she was going to live...and that time was the worst in my life.

Do whatever the doctors tell you...and get well.

Get well soon. Pneumonia is not something to mess with. That came on really quickly so it must be a nasty bug or you have a weakness for it.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I left church feeling cold, then got colder and colder as the night went on. Before long my teeth were chattering like a machine gun, and I could not stop it. I got up to go to the bathroom, and my knees were knocking so hard, it was all I could do to stand. By the time I got back to bed, a matter of a few feet, literally, I was hyperventlating like a race horse. Thank goodness I had my CPAP, I was able to gert my breating under control. My wife was sleeping under a sheet and one blanket. I was under a couple of blankets, and wearing a sweat suit.

I've pretty much just stayed home today. I haven't felt any better. I've called out work tomorrowk and have an appointment with my doctor frst thing in the morning.

I'm going back to bed.

On three (3) antibiotics or bug juice as we call it, steroids, and oxygen. Just got finished with a CAT scan, no results yet.

Biggest problem is that I am not one to "take it easy". Laying in the bed is not my idea of a good time.

Don't make things worse by trying to do stuff as I have seen too many others do.

As a habitual lazy bones I was once told by an aunt, "You do sick very well. I just keep you supplied with tea and cookies and you are quiet and get on with it. Not like my lot who whine and complain".

"Yeah, that's too much like hard work", was my reply while ducking a cushion.:D

Sorry to hear that and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Pneumonia's no fun: I've had it twice and that was two times too many.

If it's allowed, take something to help you sleep........it helps the time pass, and gives your body a better chance of fighting the boogeyman inside you. When I feel a bug coming on, I take a slug of NyQuil and hibernate for the next 12 hours.

I hope you feel better soon, but now is the time to get plenty of rest!

Well, my hospitalist came by. I'm a little better but may not be discharged before Monday or Tuesday. The CAT results indicated a large pneumonia on the left and smaller pockets on the right. Just glad I came in when I did. I want to thank everyone for their prayer and support. It's like having a wonderful extended family.
