Looks kinda like a shoplifter I tackled many years ago. His face looked pretty similar after it bounced off the pavement a few times. Mind you, I wouldn't do that today.

Yeah, he fell down down a long flight of steps - at least 2 or 3 times...
Dunno' who that homeowner was, but he knew what he was doing - and good for him!

This has to be some kind of record: he brought a gun to a fist fight AND LOST!
I'm glad the homeowner came out uninjured. It could have easily gone the other way if the hapless criminal had luck on his side. Be very aware of what you are getting yourself into.

Good for the homeowner and I like these stories with a happy ending like this.
The subdivision I used to live in was built in the 50s and I knew some of the original owners as I was real involved in our block club which was effective BTW.
One of the old timers told me in 50s or 60s they had reports of a peeking Tom that went on for months and not getting caught. Seems the men in the neighborhood got sick and tired and several laid out for him one night. They did manage to catch him in the act even and called the police to come get him. He must have tried to get away as he was beat up pretty bad and a couple broken bones even. These guys were mainly WWII and Korea Vets as well.

It's a shame that he can still stand. Unfortunately he'll most likely recycle and come out of the joint much more street smart.
I'm sure it was gratifying to the home owner to be able to administer a little preliminary justice. But I'm now too old to fight so if that happens to me I'll just have to shoot the bad guys. I can still do that don'tcha know!

I was wondering that myself. If he wrestled it away from the bad boy, then the man would have the .45 in his hand unless he threw it down (unlikely). The man then elected to use the tools at hand to win the fight.I wonder if the .45 caused those bruises.

He probably dropped it when the guy hit him and it slid under the lawn mower like my tool just did. Without a gun in the picture the odds were better than even on the homeowner.
Anyway the perp lost his street creds big time.

I don't know about his 8th grade graduation picture, but I think this is the picture when he got his PhD from the School of Hard Knocks.
