I kid you not...

I remember years ago when they did a blind tasting of that bottled **** people spend good money for. I was living in the Midwest at the time and guess what won? The testers had inserted a bottle of Lake Michigan water and it won hands down.

PetSmart and Lizard Sand

Petsmart sells "Lizard sand" which is finely ground walnut hulls, which will pass through the lizard's GI tract without causing an obstruction.

It is also great polishing media!!!!!!! The stuff is so fine it does not plug primer holes and is pretty cheap. Lasts a long time as well.

Avoid the bottled water and holistic food. Get the Lizard sand!!

See the deal is the more you spend on pet food and accessories, the better you feel about yourself. The pets could care less. I adopted two cats four years ago. I made sure I knew what food they were eating and have bought that ever since. They like a large, frequently cleaned litterbox and a bubbling water source. They clearly love the routines we do every day....keeps them happy.

Bottled water has to meet drinking water standards, there's a good chance the water out of your tap is better than the water you are buying.

Thanks for the heads up.

I went to WM today and looked for the water. You guys in La. must have some really big Bettas. We got the 16oz. bottles for 1.98 plus tax.

Fl. don't tax groceries. I assume because of the label it ain't considered food.

Shakes head and laughs,

Betta Water!!! :rolleyes::D:D:D

Caj,

I just looked at DogFoodAdvisor site, they rate, announce recalls, etc.

They rate up to 5 Star rating.

You should make sure ANGUS gets good stuff, a bunch of PUFFERY in dog food advertising ya know.

PUFFERY being a legal term, I just like how it sounds.:p

Also dogfoodanalysis.com.

Anything but Ol' Roy!

Last night was date night so me and the missus decided to splurge and go to PetSmart

"The missus and I". If you're wanting folks to believe you're an intellectual and stuff for passing on the beta water, then it's proper to be usin "The missus and I". I finally learned that myself the third time through Shawshank Redemption.

A question though that I didn't see answered as I read through the thread. Did you price ditch water, you know, for comparison?

Yes. that's right! Bottled water for fish. 31oz for $3.99. Ready to use, yada yada yada on the label. I looked closely for the ingredients and found none save for a notation that it was pure with no heavy metals and low mineral content.

If I had a fish, he'd be swimming in beer. It's a lot cheaper, no heavy metals and I can drink it too. I might actually bond with my fish.

Beta water..........? Sounds like the "I love my grand dog" bumper stickers. Every time I see one I see red flags that say, emotion issues.

I think it's just bumper stickers in general that scream emotion issues. The need to tell the world just how screwed up ones life is. For example, I have a bumper sticker that says "My other car doesn't run".

.....and a bubbling water source. They clearly love the routines we do every day....keeps them happy.

Only bubbling water source around this place is if I fart in the bath...dogs would probably like that though, seeing as they are always trying to smell my butt!

Hey, my wife said that sounds a lot better than next to the dumpster out back of Bills Bar-B-Que where she and ate many a romantic lunch, while waiting for the courier dispatcher to call.

Please say you were there for the ambiance & not to get your lunch out of the dumpster!:D

as long as its organic, gluten free, prefect, new & improved, .......today's society will buy it and cost is NOT a factor....

Well i see smart water and dehydrated water, but no powdered or heavy water. I like powdered water, you can only get it in the winter up here in Oregun. Can't buy it in stores it falls from the sky. You go out and fill up a tupperware container of powdered water and put in the freezer and you can have powdered water anytime. If you leave the powered water out too long it turns into plain old water. I tried to turn it back to powder, but it turned into heavy water and that's ok. You take the heavy water and brake it up, put in a glass and pour a little Crown over it--good stuff!

I didn't get this at Petsmart

You know, this hits close to home...for some reason with my first Dog my x-wife talked me into feeding him nothing but this Avocado based food. It was $24.99 a bag, and the bag was about the size of a bagged Cereal. It took me 6 months to convince her to let us switch to the Kirkland brand (which is actually really good!). Though his fur never did shine like it useta did after the switch!

Two of my three dogs just love drinking outta the cement pond out back. Even though they have fresh water in their bowls.Frank

I almost forgot. They also sell ground walnut hull Kitty litter. I thought that would make excellent media as well.

DOG FOOD

After the wife read up on what is actually in meat and animal by products for dog food, I pay an avg of 26$ more for a bag 17 lbs smaller (blue buffalo). The dogs seem to like it better after it's been recycled. About the lizard litter for a tumbling media, how about the calcium/sand? too coarse?
