I"m A Dangerous Man, Humph

Douche'

I work for the federal government. I have friends who work for the state.
So nice of you to lump all government workers as nothing more than freeloading parasites. I'll be comforted by that the next time I work 12 hours in 100+ degree heat and dust.
The word you sought is livelihood, not "lively hood."
You think those who work for the government don't pay taxes? I recently received a modest monetary award for a job well done -- and 38% of it was deducted for taxes before I even received it.
It was the first monetary award I've received in five years.
Any office or business has its good and bad workers, whether private sector or government.
The man was ignorant. They're everywhere, in and out of government positions.
Would you be so quick to generalize if he had been a union worker, Catholic or left handed?

Been one myself for a time as well. And since you are or have been one, you know better than most exactly the type of individual I referred to. If you do not, you have a far tighter hiring policy than most locations?

That showed heroic restraint, for sure. Forum decorum prevents me from speculating what might have rolled off my tactless tongue.

I got the same nonsense at a local bank last Summer. Driver's license & CCW...two pretty much rock solid holographic ID's...and the clownface behind the counter expected me to give her a thumbprint on the face of the check

For a $25 check.

It was a good answer.

It's about the only form of ID available to average citizens that proves right away that you are not a convicted felon.

There's jerks who abuse their position in all kinds of jobs in the private and public secors.

I was a State of Washington employee for 22 years. I worked for a lot less money than in the private sector. However, I also had great medical benefits, and a rock solid retirement package. My job entailed serving the Student Body at Washington State University. I did it at a high standard and made sure the students got their grades/information on time in order to plan their future. Grades processing runs tonight for spring semester. IT runs well today becasuue of the solid foundation I lad down even now 3 and a half yeas after I retired on a medical disabiltiy I'd go back tomorrow if asked but it's better for me to not put up with the stress of it. Damn it.

I concur with ClassIII and Minuteman. I would have said something to the effect; "Huh, My Sheriff, told me it was valid; let me jot down your name and phone number and after I check with him, I'll get back to you with his answer."

Of course it's a lot easier for me to be "quick on my feet" pondering your situation in my den in front of my computer, rather than in the room with some dweeb who catches you off guard.

Your answer was very correct.

If you had said Bite me, it confirms his idiot idears about legal gunowners.

My respect. I hope you find an other job soon. It must be hard to get out of a job after such long period by that firm.

The only thing this tells me is that you are a dangerous man.

Because you needed the moron to take your paperwork, you obviously couldn't have said anything like "Bite Me!", but if there was ever a nit-wit that needed to hear it, it was him.

If you had said Bite me, it confirms his
idiot idears about legal gunowners.

It would confirm that all gunowners are dangerous just by saying that? Wow.

I do understand that you needed to do what was necessary to get your paperwork in. I suppose that I needed to put "smiley" emoticon in place for some folks here to see that I was not serious about you actually saying that in that particular situation.

Hope you find work soon.

When I got laid off in Tennessee. I could sign up on the internet or by telephone. I did it on the net. I never went to an office. Right after that I retired and am enjoying it. I don't know how I found the time to work???
I'm unemployed right now. You CAN'T apply for Ohio unemployment in person. There's no place to go. Now it's either on the phone or on the internet. You can't even get a paper check. It's either direct deposit or debit card.

Dangerous as opposed to "potential victim?" Dangerous to criminals just like a policeman.

Your efforts to develop defensive skills, get a permit, and safely carry, help protect all. Even the unemployment clerk.

Ya know, that's a very good point. Hadn't ever thought of that.

To you fellows out of work and looking, good luck to you. Remember that saying about it's not how many times you get knocked down that determine a man's character and strength, but if he has the guts to stand up just one more time. Life's a roller coaster. Sometimes up and sometimes down, and none of it ever permanent.

God bless.

In NJ, one's Firearms ID, is not only a valid form of ID in state offices, but is actually considered a MORE valid ID (worth more points) when proving one's identity and citizenship for Driver's License renewal. This is one of the few common-sense regulations in the state.
A CCW ID is a non-issue as an ID here, as only politicians, celebrities, and organized crime figures have them.

You gave a lot better response than I would have.

My sister worked in the White House until she was let go by the new "boss" in January. My mom was up there visiting and went to work with my sister for a few days. One of the days mom had misplaced her driver's license. The guard at the White House asked her for ID and she showed her CHL and asked if that was ok. He said that was fine and let her in the White House. My sister asked her a little later in a bit of a panic "Mom, you don't have your pistol with you do you?" My mom said no, she new better than that.

First let me start by saying sorry about your job loss I just had that happen to me after 34 years. It was the best thing to ever happen to me and if you can swing it stay retired. I take no antacids, and my blood pressure is never above 125 over 68. I use to eat the tums and my bp was always high. As to what you should of said to them BITE ME that I saw from a previous poster seems appropriate! Good luck in what ever you do!!!! Thanks Larry

"If the state conciders this proof of identification what can't an Idiot like you"

Wheelgunner. Bite me isnt that big offence.
But from what I read is this idiot full of his own idears of legalgun owners. They are hard to change of their idears. We do have such people overhere to. In fact almost the Dutch population.
I am used to walk on eggscales becouse I am surrounded by that kind of people. So bite me is even to that kind of people to say that they are right in their opinion.
I hope that I make my self clear in my criple English.
