I just got a letter on a factory nickel pre-15 shipped in 1955. Factory nickel pre-model guns are scarce, but this one was part of a shipment of 20 identical units shipped to the Railey Milam Hdwe Store in Miami Fl. This makes me wonder if there is a LEO connection

Any help would be appreciated.

I live in the Miami area and will check more for you. I did a yellow page check and internet search nothing. Even tried the Miami Herald.

My LEO time was in Mississippi so not much help here. I am going to the Cop Shop this weekend

I got on Monroe County's website and looked at some old pics of LEO's there. They were all wearing sidearms butt forward on their left sides. The guns appear to be nickel K frames most with grip adapters.

All I can find on Railey Milam HDWE was something about being on Flagler (?) street. Apparently it was opened in ~1920

I had a cousin who was in law enforcement in Florida (though not nearly that many years ago!). The salt air is apparently brutal on blued guns. So, pre-stainless, a lot of coppers probably preferred nickle in the hopes it would fair better than blue in terms of rust and pitting. Just a thought.

Here's a pic of officer's of Monroe county. It appears as if all the guns are nickel. The plot thickens.
