I was impressed. It actually worked.

I have read a fair amount about "linear compensators" lately, so I decided to buy one. Fortunately I had a threaded barrel laying around that would accommodate the thing, so I thought I would give it a try. I was impressed. It resulted in a SIGNIFICANT reduction of noise. I was shooting at my regular LSG/Range and the sound between the dividers at the indoor range was noticeably lessened. It also SEEMED that there was less felt recoil, though with a 9mm that isn't necessarily noticeable or much of a big deal. Just thought I would pass it along. Its not as good as an actual suppressor, but it is legal and helpful.

I was unaware of these and had to look it up. Thanks for posting this.
I do have a silencer for my 450 Bushmaster Rifle but its cumbersome and I can't hear "poop" anyway.
I might have to pick one up to play with.

The reviews of linear comps when used on SBRs and rifle caliber pistols around the Web are mostly positive.

Ports, comps & linear comps can affect performance (failure to fully operate the slide, failure to eject, point of impact vs. point of aim, etc.) of your reloads as well...

Sometimes, that is... Ask me how I know?

Cheers!

In my case the linear compensator flung bullets everywhere but the bull's eye.
Your mileage will vary.
