I wasn't trying to become a S&W collector, Honest!

I am guessing even if there was a 12 step program for us that have a problem(not ME) there would be a lot of empty seats at the meetings. We don't have no stinkin problem, we just luv what we do.

No sir, there would be no empty seats. It's called a swap meet or an auction. Just depends on the format. hardcase60

Welcome to the accumulation stage...more to come.

How do you make a small fortune buying S&W's? Start with a large one. Why? They are hard to let go.

Enjoy for now, you'll know you have a problem when...

-You have more than 2 safes. Sure, lots of people have two... right?

-You buy a model because you can't remember if you have one.

-You have a monthly gun budget, and it's not exactly at the bottom of the list.

-The lgs calls you whenever they have something interesting.

-You make travel routes based on gun stores to visit.

-You can't go to a gun show without enough money to buy something or two.

There's much more...you'll see

Information

Now comes the incessant accumulation of research material, the more you learn, the more you buy. Throw in the hat kid, you're done, no hope for you now!

you have to bottom out before the cure

to get to the cure you first have to bottom out... bankruptcy or O.D....
I don't know of anyone who has O.D'd... so running out of money is the only way to stop the "ITCH"

I bought a pawn shop 1943 Victory model for $200 and noticed it shot a lot better than my new Rossi. Never looked back.

I've never considered myself a collector of S&W but more of an accumulator. Most collectors have a goal or focus, I never have. All I do is make the rounds at the LGSs and pawn shops. They ALWAYS have something interesting and vintage that I like. Sometimes, I have to ban myself from walking in the front door. Just today I saw something I really like and now I'm debating about whether or not to go back tomorrow and try to make a deal. BTW, I never shop online, the local stores keep me broke and I like supporting them.
