Yep, I finally comitted the ultimate sin...I sold my 3 week old M&P9 (which I LOVED) to get a new Sig P229 9mm. I got good money for the M&P and got a good deal on the Sig and Ive always wanted a Sig. It is soo BAD! (as in awesome) I DO definately want another M&P9 again (hopefully the same one...I sold it to my aunt) someday buy money wouldnt permit both at the moment so I had to pick the one I'd rather have. I like the DA/SA.

Honestly I do miss the M&P though, however nice this thing is, there is something loveable about the M&Ps for me.

I have a 229 9mm and it is the most accurate and reliable pistol that I own. I have fired well in excess of 10k rounds without any problems of any kind.

Nice upgrade in my opion. I belive Sigs are the most out of the box accurate weapon you can shoot. Love all my Sigs. Congrats.

I love my Sig Sauer pistols (P220R and P220 Carry two tone). I got all my magazines from Top Gun Supply (Sig Sauer branded). Have fun with your new pistol. I'm sure you'll get the M&P back again.

The Sig 250 was the only other serious contender with the M&P9c for my current carry auto. You did fine. One day your Aunt will let you take it out to play!

I had a Sig 229 in 9mm and it was a great pistol and the most accurate out of the box gun I ever had.

Have to agree with that. Now, if only I could afford one....

Did I get lost??? SIG love fest? SIG forum?

Nothing personal, but I will take an AMERICAN MADE Gun. I remember when the Ruger P series came out and everyone was saying how the lines were not right, how homely it was.
Those look like a darn work of art compared to this homely lineup of SIGS.
C'mon folks, for one second take a STRONG second look at that pistol! That is a ugly darn gun! it's mishapened, almost as bad as those Beretta U series .22's.
Lot of snob appeal, people liking these foreign guns. It's a darn Beamer of handguns except Beamers are decent looking.
A Smith Sigma puts this gun to shame in looks and is a fraction of the cost.
Please don't tell me it's not snob appeal. It is. Which I can understand if the gun is great looking and performs better.
This one doesn't.

Pick a M&P American made gun which is better looking and might keep some people employed in the states if you got to have plastic. The quality is the same, it's cheaper, and it's sure a whole lot better looking.
SMITH AND WESSON!

I have the same gun, except mine has the DAK trigger.

TMann

...the dark side...Whew, I thought you bought a Glock.

My 229 is a keeper as well. I won't say it to loud, but I'm not a fan of the M&P trigger. Shhhhhhhh...

The missus and I both have 229 Sigs and they are both convertables (357 Sig/40 S&W).
I am about as diehard S&W revolver and Colt 1911 fan as there is, and own several, but if TSHTF it will be my Sig I grab.

Nothing wrong with a Sig, I have several. Too bad you couldn't afford to keep the M&P, but you can always get another.

wow! I've got sigs and smiths, but after this reply I've gotta think you've never fired a sig.

I have to agree with your diagnosis Ma-S&W! Just the frame was made outside of America (Germany) The rest is homegrown. The gun fires like a dream btw. The whole looks thing is OPINION, and the Sig is every bit as accurate and reliable as the M&P. I do want to get the M&P back someday, however, not at the cost of my Sig. I figured if something drastic happened with regards to legislation and I could only have one...well...you get the point.

The Sig is metal btw, and I think 124gr +P Speer Gold Dot JHP qualifies as a caliber of consequence

Plus its cheaper to shoot at the range (not the Gold Dots though)...and easier to get the girlfriend out there. Remember, the 9mm has ended many many disputes throughout history. I shoot it better (more accurately/faster) so it works for me. To each his own.

Haha, I can hear the BG now... "Oh thats just a 9, no worries!" Haha.
Placement is power, placement is power, placement is power.

I really like my SIG 229 as well. It's the gun the 59 series of pistols should have evolved into, but didn't.

MSH: I have Sig 230, 225, 2 ea 226's, 220, 228 & 229, so don't let the anti Sig comments get you down. And yes, I have about 3 times as many S&W's as Sigs, mostly revolvers. I wanted to inform you about TJ of TJ's Custom. The guy is a wizard with Sigs. He did my 220, 228 & 229. Single and double action trigger pulls are phenominal. Here is a link for you: http://www.tjscustomgunworks.com/TJinf.htm
Have fun!

Sweet, thanks alot beemerrider...we all know the DA pull needs much work on the P-series Sigs!
My next gun will be an M&P9Compact or my old M&P9 regular back. The compacts are growing on me...the girlfriend likes it too and I want her to be armed because of where she lives.
OR should I save up and get a Dan Wesson Commader Classic Bobtail 1911?! Oh, the choices!
