If limited to 10 rounds, what do you carry?

At home and at the range it's full capacity let's say 20 rds(9mm). For ccw carry it's a 10rd mag only. We had to register larger capacity mags that we own. Better to shoulder holster a magnum.

We took another hit on the rifles that's another post.

I live in TX, where we're not restricted, but my Carry pistol is my trusty (2012) Shield9.
My other consideration for a restricted State would be my G48.

My sentiments exactly. My EDC used to be a 10mm Kimber 1911, but for several years now, my EDC is a 5" Classic (full-underlug) 629 .44mag, stoked with 240gr Underwoods, in a homemade under-the-shirt vertical shoulder holster rig.

Carrying a Magnum Revolver is an interesting proposition, but as much as I would get a serious kick out of carrying a Smith & Wesson Model 29 with a 4" barrel like Dirty Harry, I think I would rather stick with a smaller, lighter semiautomatic pistol chambered in either .40 S&W or .45 ACP. (Cool as they are, I'm not really interested in carrying airweight revolvers.)

I'm still most interested in the M&P40 2.0 Subcompact, but the things are completely unavailable at the moment. I can't even find listings for any online right now, so unless availability improves within the next year or so, (which I'm not particularly optimistic about) I'll probably end up picking an alternative based on whatever happens to be available when the time comes.

Well...... I'm not in NY but.................. how about we think out of the box....

Looking at my "stuff".....................

3" 66 IWB behind the right hip as primary .....w/ one speed loader in a split-six in front.....

add a ....................

Sig 245 (6+1) in a cross draw at 10-11 O'clock with 2 spare 8rd 220 mag with X grip adaptors behind................

that's 6+6 + (6+1)+ 16 = 35 ...... very John Wick :D

< 10 rounds/ mags....... are not an impediment that can't be overcome!!!!!!!!!! in about 10 minutes. :D

Just a point of parliamentary procedure, but Inspector Harold Francis Callahan's Model 29 had either the 8 3/8" or the 6 1/2" barrel, depending upon the scene . . .

Thank god, I live in a free state. But I was limited when carring in NJ (under LEOSA) for my daughter's USCG graduation. Due to mag limit and no hollowpoints, I carried my Glock 30 with FMJ ball. If forced to carry FMJ, I want them fat.

Sig P-239. Not the lightest but I don't shoot polymer well. I have a P-30 that I'm experimenting with but so far I'm not shooting it as well as my P-239's. 1911 is out of the question. That's a hundred year old cavalry/horse pistol and I don't have a horse.

I don't live in a restricted state but my Mom lives in CT so I leave a Glock 30 and a Sig P220 at her house and lots of .45ACP ammo to carry when visiting.

But my other favorite SFPD copper, Jack Cates, had a 4" Model 29, at least until Ganz took it and killed Mike Ehrentraut from Breaking Bad with it.

This thread is a hoot.

33 years in law enforcement and I've never run into a "jack boy". Must be a sex thing.

I'm curious what folks who live in states with restrictions on magazine capacity are carrying or otherwise what folks would carry should they move into a state with said restrictions.

I've been considering this lately and I've narrowed it down to either a Smith & Wesson M&P40 Compact 1.0 or an M&P45 Shield, but I'm curious what some other options might be.

What do you or would you carry?
Two .357 Magnum J frames.

My Bond Snakeslayer with a 45LC in one chamber and a 410 shot shell in the other. Fits in my pocket and if it requires more than 2, I better run fast.
