If you could have only one gun (with slight twist)

SIG 229 with three factory barrels, one 9mm, one .357 SIG and one .40 S&W (the .357 and .40 magazines are interchangeable). I have one already, just don't have a 9mm barrel yet. My G19 is filling that spot for now.

Second choice? My S&W 547 for ammunition reasons.

Only one

If I can't have a J-frame, I'll go to K! Give me a Model 10 or Model 64 snubby and I'll be happy.

OK----- M&P Core, select fire, threaded barrel, folding forward grip, 20 rd mag, with ( 3 ) 30 rd mags back up, with Leupold Delta point. Be Safe,

That's easy, you specified no S&W J frames.... so my 1st choice is my present day preferred carry piece, a parkerized Colt Agent 2", .38spec.

If some catastrophe struck and this happened now, I would keep the 5" 5906 that is with me now. Tough as a rock and shoots itty bitty groups. Thanks Wesman.
:)

Re-reading DAdams' post above, I'll add the Buck 112FG, oak scales & their 420HC blade. That Terrier idea below looks interesting too. ;)

GLOCK 19! Did I win?

That took about 1 second and I own many handguns. You did say just one right?

My first thought was a Sig P239, especially if I could get a SAS 9mm with the DAK trigger.

Alternatively, a small pocket pistol might give more carry options, but I don't have any experience with them. I'd probably go with a LCP, but the Sig P290RS is very interesting to me. I'm not sure how it would work as a pocket pistol, though.

My Kahr PM9 with Crimson Trace laser. Fits in the front pocket of any pants I own (I actually make pocket size a criteria when I buy pants ...lol).

Wow, good question and a tough decision. As much as I like my LW Commander and have become very comfortable with it as my primary carry gun, I think if I had to limit my selection to just one the Commander might lose out. Based on unscientific studies conducted in my basement with a cheap postal scale, my Glock 19 with a 15rd mag and one in the pipe weighs LESS than my Commander with an 8rd mag and 1 in the pipe, takes up no more space on my hip and doubles my potential firepower if needed.

Hate to say it. Glock 19.
For me it would be a toss up on the Glock 19 or Colt Commander, I own and carry both in rotation so..........choosing only one it will be the Colt Commander. I shoot it well and have never felt under-gunned while carrying it.
