If You Could Only Own One Smith & Wesson… What Would It Be?

My 329PD, much better than the highly vaunted 629 mountain guns if you realistically carry one all day in the woods, hiking, on the farm or whatever else. Just MHO.

I'd love to have my 6.5" blue M29-2 back. I trade ALL my other guns for it. My first REAL gun which I got in 1978 and lost in 2012. That one was my most prized possession. Still holding out hope but not my breath.

I would hate to part with any of my S&Ws or be forced to own just 1... but of those I already have, it would be a tough choice between my 29-2 or my 18-3 because they belonged to my late father. The 29-2 is unfired in mint condition and is obviously worth a lot more than my 18-3, but I use and enjoy the 18-3 a lot whereas the 29-2 is a safe queen.

If we are talking guns I don't already have but want, probably a high condition 29-5 Classic DX with all the goodies that came with it.

Well…..since I only own one S&W it would have to be my 66-3 tri-alpha. K-frame, round butt, .357. I’ve had one since 1988. The combination of the round butt and larger frame fit my hand perfectly. Conceals well and can handle the magnum rounds although I normally have +p’s loaded.

Ordered one from S&W in 1988 and sold it in 2019 when I sold 95% of my entire collection. Within a month or so, suffering from a serious case of sellers remorse, I sought out a replacement. Took a bit but came up with one made about the same year. Made the case myself.

It would be a Mod. 64 that my Uncle carried the last half of his career as a police officer. It has crappy fitting (in my hands) rubber grips and white paint on the front sight. They will both stay there.

I have been cutting back as I age, so I don't have as many as I once did. I'd have a hard time choosing between the following 2. One might think obvious choice would be the 6" Model 952, but I have a lot of history with the 586.

The 6.5 inch five screw on the left.........or maybe the 4 inch five screw on the right. It would be very difficult to make a decision but I lean towards the 6.5 inch. Both are like new and possibly unfired since leaving the factory. My reason for choosing a 44 Magnum five screw is collector purposes.
