Illinois "Fanny Pack" Issue, Discussion

We made things a little easier in Vermont.

With the exception of schools, Federal buildings, etc - it's a little more complicated but basically.....

LEO to citizen: Are you carrying a gun?

Citizen: Yes, I am.

LEO: Have you ever been convicted of a felony?

Citizen: No

LEO: Have a nice day.

Are you a LEO? You indicate you are but then your post and particularly your last line tells me you're not. Your wording about interpreting the law also doesn't sound like being a LEO.
The pamphlet you are referring to is on the ISP website.

Read my post # 16. I explained the situation concerning "fanny pack carry" and discussions with the state's attorneys in the state. Before you venture out with your interpretation and what you think your interpretation means you should heed my advice and contact the state's attorneys in the counties you plan on traveling in and doing a fanny pack carry. Bottom line is it really doesn't matter what you think or want the law to say. What matters is what the state's attorney in each county thinks. He/she is going to be the one deciding whether you're going to be charged or not. Your opinion won't matter. Play it safe and save yourself a lot of money and hassle.
I don't know who spoke to your group from FOID. Since you said "he" that only leaves about 1 of 3 guys who worked in that section over the past 15 years. Knowing all 3 I'll withhold my comment except that I know none of them were involved conducting the poll contacting the state's attorneys for opinions. There was a reason those were in FOID to begin with.

roma 7070 leather fanny pack

roma 7070 medium leather fanny pack has a velcro secured soft holster built in, nice fit for my sw638-3, plenty of room left for speed loader, concealed holster, wallet etc. This is great in az. when wearing t-shirt and shorts.

Prosecutors charged an Illinois state senator Wednesday with attempting to board an aircraft with a weapon after they said he tried to carry an unloaded .25 caliber pistol and bullets through security at O'Hare International Airport.
This guy voted "Aniti Gun" also, hypocrite.

If I were you leave this alone and wait the six months till our wounderful law makers fiqure the law out. Don't ruin yourself of a concealed carry permit in the up and comming future, by getting arrested and having record that would denie you a concealed carry permit.
