This was the year I said I wasn't going to buy any guns, just ammo and accessories. I've bought lots of both, but also bought a 3913 (sold my M&P9c to finance it), 3904, the 5904, and also have an AR lower on order.

I can relate: I don't know how many times I've said, "This is it. I've got all the guns I need." But, what do I do next? I innocently browse gunbroker.com and...BAM!! I gotta have this one but that's all; no more. Yesterday, I bought a wonderful S&W Model 14-3 Target .38. I don't know when it ends, or does it?

Ha Ha Ha. I feel your pain, as I have the same problem. I always swear that I've reached my limit....there won't be another one....but then I find something I want. To top it off, I don't seem to be able to buy a "bad" gun. Every one I buy turns out to be a great shooter and completely reliable. What a curse ! (wink, wink)

I think that if I were to buy a piece of junk....just once....it might cure me.

Here's a picture of the new purchase along with the 5906 I've had for close to 20 years. Which raises the question of why I need two full sized double stack 3rd generation semis?

Yeah, that's an imponderable.

The serial number prefix on the 5904 is TDD while the 5906 is TCZ. Can anyone hazard a guess on the year of production for each?

Answer: Because they aren't making them like this anymore and if you didn't snag it, some other 3rd genophile would have. If one is good, two is always better.

Besides, look how well they compliment each other.
