Indoor Range - what do you bring for just plain fun?

The second reason I bought the recently acquired 66-1 (thread in this section) is for range fun. Only had it out once since I got it last week. Prior to that my main fun gun was my late father's no dash 686.

The other fun gun is my Les Baer UTC hard chrome. Like shooting a laser lol. To be honest it also gets work when I do my routine drills-fun as well :D.

I have the most fun at my range with my S&W 4506 no dash. This .45 caliber all steel tank is super reliable and accurate. I love it!

50 ROUNDS NOWHERE NEAR ENOUGH FORA MODEL 10

I bring my 617 and shoot a few hundred rounds of .22. Sometimes I bring my 4 inch heavy barrel .38 Model 10 and 50 rounds of ammo.

Most times I'm shooting my Ruger Mark IV for fun.

I go to my outdoor club for fun/practice. The price for indoor, + no reloads, getting swept & lit up by some nimrods lazer going around like a disco ball is NOT FUN. It is A/C'd in the heat and I can shoot at closer ranges (Seecamp 32), that's about it. I seem to bring my 617 & mdl 10 everywhere.

I've been shooting handguns "for fun" for a lot of years now, over fifty, and after all those years I still prefer to shoot .45 automatics over any of the multitude of other guns I have lying around - but I admit I can't think of anything I own that I don't enjoy, except maybe 4-inch .44s with full-charge loads. :D

I am in a rotation to dust off all my 22s.
I had a Jennings J22 out last week... Yeah, it's cheap. I really wanted to function test it... it had one FTF Federal plated but ran fine on Win, Rem, CCI minimags.
Next up I'll run some cb caps through the 1909 Lady Smith

I'd bring my M34-1...

An Ithica M72 lever action 22 (made in W Germany) that has proven to be a tack driver. In recent years, the rights were sold to Henry.

Next in the rotation is a Sig Mosquito & after that a Browning 1911-22.

For another rifle, I'd bring my Anchutz Model 1416D Classic.

If I had a runner to set 100 yard targets, I'd dust off the Savage 340 in 22Hornet.

Sometimes its rimfire day, K22, Buckmark, maybe the Henry 17 HMR

Other times its go big or go home, S&W 625 45 acp, or Springfield 1911, or Uberti 45 LC, or the Model 57 41mag.

Most of the time at least 1 in 38 spl, either the 66, the 65 LS or the 10 or the 36.
I like variety.

I'm right there with ya, cmansguns.

Early, likely first year, K-22 OD and late, likely 1945, Victory Model. Yeah the VM's pimped out a bit, but I really don't mind stuff like this, because I figure even though it's not factory-correct, it's period-correct, to the '50s. Like a sporterized '03 Springfield, I figure this is just what a WWII vet would've owned.

Recently I really wanted to do the indoors range thing, because I was having trouble walking fast even with a cane, and didn't want to make everybody else wait for me to get back during target check/change. Normally I don't like them for a variety of reasons, but what are you going to do. (Got some meds now, it's better.)

.22's are always the standby easy-does-it gun, but there's something particularly satisfying in popping off .38 wadcutters in a K-Frame.

I don't own any guns, any more, that I don't like shooting! They have to be fun right?! I try to bring different ones each range trip, that being said there is always a 1911 or 2, usually a Sig in 9mm or 45 and perhaps a M28 or M66 snubby

These are the ones that made the trip last week. I took a friend's daughter's boyfriend to the indoor range. He's 20-something, and had shot rifles and shotguns, but never hand guns. Every one of these was a hoot to shoot. We started small with the supremely accurate Hi Standard 106 .22 LR, then the CZ 75 Compact 9mm. After that it was time for .45 ACP Springfield 1911 Range Officer. This turned out to be his favorite. It used to be my "most fun" range gun. These days, the full lug 686-6 6" 7-shooter is the one that always makes the trip, because it always puts a smile on my face. He would not shoot the 629-6 4" .44 Magnum. I don't blame him. The blast made the other targets flap. We were right next to the wall. I'll not do that again anytime soon.

Oh yeah!

When it's a revolver, I like my 16-4 (4 inch barrel). I use 32 S&W Long wadcutters... and it's so sweet.

For bottom feeders, (autos), I love my High-Standard Olympic in .22 Short from 1949. I swear you can hit a fly at 10 yards if you give it a chance.:)

Best wishes everyone!

I bring the same 14-3 Long Tom as the OP, along with a single-shot 10.5" Chipmunk pistol in .22 Magnum. A box of .22 Mag lasts a long time using the single-shot, and it's a blast (literally) to shoot.
