Internal lock question

I actually like the internal lock on my 640.

My grandkids are at the house every weekend and I lock and trust the lock just in case the gun gets found even if it isn't loaded.

I see others concerned about the lock engaging during a fire fight but what about the opposite? Anyone have a valid concern about the lock not working when it is on?

No. With the consequences you would have to live with a gun safe is mandatory for me. Would dropping it once or twice or more defeat it, I don't know and would not want to find out and the same goes for magazine disconnects. With children or others around that would likely futz with it if found I take NO chances.
