INTERNET SNUBBY MATCH

One more attempts.

3" model 36. Standard 158 SWC 800 fps.

It was dark at the indoor range. I used the merrit optical thing.

There are 10 holes, 2 in the white. 7 1/2"

The winner for October is Otreb with 3 1/2" shot with a Ruger SP101. He also came in second place with a 3 7/8 shot with an LCR.

It was a fun match.

For November, show us a one hole 5 shot group.
Whoever can do it from the longest distance wins.

Show us your ONE hole group and tell us the distance in yards or feet if you have to. ;)

Any hold, no resting.

If you feel the need to use a 3" go ahead.

Good shooting Otreb! :)

Here's my first attempt for November:

Good ammo was scarce for .45acp, and I had some 200gr Gold Dots for .44sp, so I decided to use my 3" Taurus 431 for this match.

Sights on this one are smallish and the orig owner painted the front red and rear notch was painted with white out. Good for low light, but difficult for this job, so I sharpie'd both black.

My first five cinched 21ft, so I had 45 to work on 30ft.

Getting 30ft wasn't nearly so easy.

My sixth attempt at 30ft was as close as I got, but I'm not sure it truly is a 'one hole' group since not all shots really touch.

For poops, I ran one out to the maximum range of 20yrds

I guess I could have tried a few more times, but this ammo is priced like each bullet was cast from unicorn turds, so I saved 10 for chronoing later....they should be right around 830fps in this gun. They feel snappy enough compared to the cowboy stuff.

Anyways, I'm in solid for 21ft with this one.

This needs to be beat. If you tie and its with a S&W revolver, you win the tie. My local range is 34'. It can be done. Just bring a lot of ammo.

YES That is a one hole group at 30 feet.

I am trying to buy a 2.5" Charter Arms Bulldog 44 special.

Please post all your attempts.
Thank you

David

I really wanted to use the 325, but two problems:
1) all I have is cheap ball ammo
2) min range is 25yrds at the local bullseye oriented range and the other indoor ranges prohibit any lead ammo, ruling out most 200gr swc options.
I had to persuade them to let me use this alum cased blazer stuff, too.

I have recently seen 230 gr jacketed SWC ammo. It is made by MagTech. I have not tried it, so can not vouch for it's accuracy, but the SWC part is of interest. The 230 gr ought to be very close for fixed sight guns, possible bonus!

I can't imagine the objection to aluminum cases, unless they keep the brass & sell it for scrap?

Something to that effect, they say they get fined if there's any steel or alum in the scrapping.
I basically tell them it's a revolver... I'm not chasing brass and I'll show them the full box of empties as I leave so they know nothing was left. They usually agree to that.
I like Magtech ammo, haven't seen that one yet. Usually the bullseye range has the Black Hills 200gr swc, but supposedly it's disco'd ....and I'm not sure I can one hole those offhand at 25yrds with a snubbie.:D
Getting last month was pretty inspired for me, usually I can hold 4-5" with my 442 using good defense ammo. But the LCR and sp101 don't get the same trigger time.

If you shoot a one holer with a snubby at 25 yards, I will double the prize this month! But what the heck, try.

I shot my model 15 4" today at 11 yards and could not quite shoot a one hole group after a box of 50.

I need some HBWC for my 3" model 36.

The closest thing I'll get to something like that would require a bunch of flyers and half a box of ammo.
Last time I was out at 25yrds with the 325pd, I used 200gr SWCs...

Steel is easy enough to sort out - I have seen ranges use a push magnet the size of a vacuum cleaner. Aluminum is a different story, however.

Thanks David.
Yeah 5 yards was tough enough. At 10 yards I can keep them in the red but that's about it.

I walked into the 34' range. Just 11 yards, I need to beat the one hole group done at 10.

I pulled my 637 out of the ankle holster and fired the rounds in it. Nuttin great.

Next I fire 7 HBWC with 3.0 promo. (red dot). These were good. I was hoping more holes could make them connect....

Thanks for getting me out.

This was done with my model 15-3 @34' with unknown 38 sp loads on a different day. Its still not a one holer.
