Is the S & W Forum getting hard up for sponcors?

On a serious note, I HATE the ads. But I understand why they are here. Without them this forum may not last long.

Can't expect one man to keep reaching into his pockets to keep this place up and running unless he's got millions.

We all know Lee sold off part or most of his collection. What more can we expect? :o

Some of us buy a latte every morning (YUCK!). We pay for online subscriptions such as Consumer Reports or monthly gun magazines. And I'm willing to bet there's much more usefull information here than any gun rag!

I too plan on donating again when I can. But the ads don't bother me much any more. I learned how to tune them out. :D

I gotta admit that it's nice to find a place to get away from all the political nonsense. In the last three years politics have kinda dominated my life. I shouldn't have (because of the rules) posted anything political or critical of our less informed gun grabbing friends on the left. I promise not to do it again. Not here at least.
It did get some interesting comments though, everything from high colesterol breakfast, muffler repair, to Russian and Asian wives. Very diverse bunch here! What's not to love?

The ads bother me not one whit. As far as politics-by now I think everyone knows where just about everyone stands on a particular issue and if we want to get out blood pressure going up we can watch FOX or MSNBC. I come here to relax, unwind and have a little fun (and occasionally bash the French :D) I get enough politics elsewhere and I'm well past the rambo stage in my life. I've developed quite an affinity for you guys and have learned more than I could possible imagine about Smith & Wessons (which is what brought me here in the first place).
I like the way Lee runs this board. I love the mix of people I have met- an eclectic bunch as I know. I understand the realities of cost. If the ads make it possible then so shall it be.
Now enough of this....time to go stir the pot somewhere else. ;)

I have enjoyed several area's of the forum but the lounge is still my favorite. You always know you can come here and feel welcomed, never have to worry about getting cussed or hammered because of your viewpoint. I always learn something new every trip here and usually get at least one good laugh a day. With all the bad going on in the world today it is refreshing to see there are still good decent folks around. Thanks go out to Lee and all the mods!

I've never paid any attention to ads anyways. I don't really care what a manufacturer has to say about their product. They'll never tell you "It's ok but not that great" or "Other brands are likely better." As far as the political ban goes Thank you Lee. I get dragged into way too many of those discussions everywhere else and talking to walls gets old fast and I must admit that I'm a wall too when it comes to that because no one elses oppinion can change mine so what's the point of political babbling anyways? It's nice to have a place to come to and not be flamed or belittled even when I occasionally say something stupid

Belittled, wait till next month.:D

Wait........We can't pick on Cajuns, or lawyers, or certain CajunLawyers?
I ain't never said non'o'dat. :D

What happened to the Asian or Russian wives?

:D:D:D:D:D
They were not wives, they were pretty young Russian women available for marriage.
They all found husbands.
They are now seeking attorneys to discuss asset division. :p

What's a sponcor?

A sponcor has the following characteristics:

(1) Is at least 40 and is sure that the next generation will drive us straight to the fiery underworld.
(2) Thinks that guns should be made out of metal and nothing but metal.
(3) Reminisces about the days when guns were less reliable and more expensive than they are today, but is sure the opposite was actually true.
(4) Has major caliber snobbery.

Given this definition, then NO, this forum is not getting hard up for sponcors. :D

I am glad there are no political discussions allowed. I joined to learn and talk about Smith & Wessons and all the other makes and models that are often discussed.

And the pictures are great. Doesn't matter if it is guns, grandchildren, dogs, or cats, I enjoy them all.

The little bit of money I donate here is well worth the entertainment value.

Thanks Lee and keep up the good work.

Don
