If you want to talk to the Secret Service, just call them up and leave me out of the middle.

6. Derogatory, CRUDE names for any government official will NOT be tolerated.

The president just announced he is going to push for new gun laws, AW & High Cap mag bands.

Please understand if we get these new laws, we can't blame the president, we can't blame anti guns groups.

We are to blame, we can stop it, and stop it now. There are over 100 million gun owners in this country. If each and ever one of us write our congressman/lady, NOW, we can stop it.

Tell then not to allow these senseless laws that accomplish nothing, they are only "feel good" actions so they can tell us they did something.

Write your congressman/women, tell them you do not support such laws and will NEVER vote for anyone who supports these laws.

The balls in our court now. All it takes is for ALL of us to spend a couple minutes firing off e-mails. Save the e-mail so you can send it again, and again.

If we get the laws, it will be our fault, we can't blame the president or anyone else.

100 million gun owners, and only 4.3 million NRA members!
Sad.

JOIN the NRA

We need the NUMBER to show to them.
If you're not counted with us, "they" are going to count YOU as being against us.

Already did before you posted this.

Respectfully told my representatives not only did I not support ANY new firearms laws, and I do NOT want to become a "one issue" voter.

Furthermore, if my representative supported ANY new firearms laws, I would not vote for them and would support and campaign for another candidate who supported my views.

I chose to write my Senators just moments ago, Congressmen too. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Instead of writing how it does no good to contact them I practice my typing with notes to those that might make a difference. My opinion here is pretty moot.

We need to swell the ranks of the NRA to at least 10 million before the next session of congress. This will get their attention and give them pause.

When writing to your congressman, do not fail to point out that in the state of CT where the Newtown shooting occurred, the "Assault Weapons Ban" never lapsed and was still in effect on that awful day. This is singular proof that the newly re-proposed law will do nothing.

People fail to understand. I am not disagreeing with anything said above. I am a NRA member.

The problem is "THEY" must do something, they have to, so it looks like THEY are in control and solving a problem.

What is the easiest thing to do?? Pass a law or bill. We all know if will not cure what ails this Country but it will have the appearance of doing something great and solving a problem.

So even if a law is passed the madness and insanity will continue.

There are so many other underlying problems that they can not be fixed.

+1

It's such a complex issue. I have no idea what anybody can 'do' to 'solve' 'it'.

I'll be sending a "nice" contribution after the first of the year....I urge all NRA members to do the same. We are now in a real fight for our rights.....Don't sit on the sidelines!!!!!!!!!!!!

I brought NRA membership up at my local F.O.E. club the other night and was flamed by almost every Union member in attendance! They seem to think the NRA is exclusively for the upper class, rich Republicans! These men all own guns. Most own handguns and many have some semi-automatic guns, yet they think the NRA is only out to protect one class of gun owner.

Several other NRA members and their wives also helped me defend the NRA as our best resource to fight for our rights.

An off duty LEO who was there said his departments lawyer told them NOT to join the NRA because it will make them look like "gun nuts' if they have to use their weapon on duty. He and his fellow officers believe this to be true.

The above is one of the best reasons, given
in a while, why we need to swell the ranks.

The more diverse the membership of the NRA
is, the more absurd that agument looks.

I'm a Life member, but will send some more $$ tomorrow. Also going to send a few bucks to Alan Gottlieb and the SAF, they're taking on lots of state and locals.

You even get a free hat and a decent gun magazine. There was a box where a life membership could be selected at 25 dollars a quarter.

I think Taurus still gives a free year of NRA membership with every new gun purchased. More manufacturers ought follow that example given the recent sales numbers....it would add up fast.
