The dealer said it would be 7-8 months for my model 60, but I picked it up Monday night. I only had 8 rounds left from a visit to the range, so that's all I was able to shoot. It has got such a sweet, smooth SA shot. It really surprised me. I didn't even think about trying it double action.

We scored on some ammo last night. 15 boxes of Magtech .38's! I can have some fun now!

Here is a link to the photos my husband took last night. He has a Springfield XDM, and mine is the revolver.

Thanks for all of the advice from everyone as to what gun I should get as my first!

Ammo isn't the only thing currently in short supply right now. A quick check of a half dozen Distributors showed not a single Model 60 "In Stock" with any of them. A recent visit to one of my local Distributors showed some very empty shelves including those that are normally "packed" with Smith & Wessons' finest handguns.

Ok, someone has a nice camera and some skills behind the lens! Nice gun too!

Low volume dealers and dealers that don't stock a lot of Smith & Wessons have a particularly tough time during demand periods like the current one.

The highest volume dealers and Smith 'stocking dealers' have the best shot at limited supplies.

One dealer I know, whose range I frequent when travelling, still holds a grudge against S&W for the 'Clinton years' and the IL. As a result he doesn't stock more than an occasional S&W and doesn't promote S&Ws at all.

Big Surprise - he's having a heck of a hard time, now, trying to get the Smiths his customers are asking for.

Nice pics and a cool photo hosting site.

Great choice, my wife loves her M60.

You bought a revolver and didn't think to try it double action?

Strange.

Enjoy,

I only had 8 rounds! I was so excited just to try it out, I only shot it SA. I didn't even think to shoot it DA. Now that I have ammo, I most certainly will shoot it DA.

Up until the other night, we couldn't find ammo anywhere, in any town 100 miles around us! That's why I snatched up so many boxes when I did find it!
