I've been Burgled!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope they get caught sooner than later.
You gotta wonder how much a "fence" will pay for a used battery and a fire extiguisher? $2.00, if anything? I hope the battery terminals well well corrroded so they had a tough time getting them off.
A friend stopped for ice and beer one early morning on a fising trip to Fourchon. While he was in the store someone drove up next to his boat and took off with 5 or 6 good fishing rods. They didn't notice till they got to the boat launch. That's a long, P'Oed, drive back to Thibodaux, at least they had some cold beer for the ride.

Friend of mine with a body shop is having a really hard time finding people who want to work. They expect to be paid $25.00 per hour under the table to avoid having their benefits cut off. He called me the other day and asked me what I thought about the prospect of him hiring a guy who did ten years for B&E. First, nobody around here does ten years for B&E unless they do it as an habitual offender, and second, DON'T HIRE HIM WHILE YOU'RE WORKING ON MY CAR!!!!

I had people down my driveway to do business and leave when they seen my 145lb female rottie. You need dogs. It's the best first line of defense. The dogs will deter bad people from going on your property. The 12ga "00" is the second line of defense. Living in a new area everyone is pro gun here
and kind of trigger happy. Most shoot 24/7 I hear guns going off at all kinds of hours. These Yankees have rebels in there hearts trying to get out.

Caj,

I got up this morning and was covered with sores and some type of really ugly black angel was flying around and all of the usually chirping sparrows in my back yard were dead..........go figure.

I left your batteries with "T-Meth" in Delcambre - I told him you'd be by to pick them up.

Your fire extinguisher -- well, that's another story - it blew up when I
tried to extinguish a yellow jacket nest -- and my right arm ain't working too good as a result. I'll be filing a products liability suit soon in St Mary Parish over that incident and naming you as an additional defendant for providing/leaving unattended a weapon of mass extinguishment.

Just kidding, of course.

About the sores. It was actually that my ears fell off.

Back in previous marriage, I had a place at a large nearby lake. Everyone had a collection of 5 gallon gas cans for fueling their boats.
In one of the lake neighborhoods, someone kept stealing whatever FULL 5 gallon cans they could find.
A friend got tired of this and filled a couple, allowing the gas to warm in the sun, and marked the cans with a noticeable black dot with a marker. He then dissolved about 5 pounds of sugar in each can and left them out for the eventual theft.
Yep, they were taken. The thefts stopped soon thereafter.

I think the miscreants were looking for Caj's infamous collection of boat anchors, and failing to find them, went for the batteries and extinguisher instead.

Back in 1984 while on temporary duty at a Saudi Arabian Air Force Base. I happened to be off duty and down town about noon. A group of friendly locals insisted I go with then to the central square. It was a Friday and the punishment of the court was to be carried out. I saw a man lose his right hand and a man lose his head.

The man that lost his hand had a thing that looked like a blood pressure cuff put around his upper arm before the sword was dropped. He was then transported to the hospital after the hand was chopped off. I was allowed to leave after the beheading. A women was stoned by the crowd next, she had committed adultery.

Justice is swift over there; no appeals. It is not a thing I want to ever see again. I was given a front row seat. I admit I was sick after seeing that.

A friend in 29 Palms removed his battery in his pickup for the winter. When the thieve(s) came and could not steal his battery they drained his oil. Guess they had to get even with him for not letting them steal his battery.

Times are bad. When I was a kid we didn't lock doors and slept with windows open.I have a fairly large piece of property with only one way in.The road is two ruts with ditches on each side and 500 yards going in,just wide enough for 1 vehicle.I have had all types of equipment including a tractor and bush hog stolen.I feel raped.I figure anyone bold enough to drive out on a tractor and risk getting blocked in is stupid or either thinks they are too "bad" to have to worry about it.The law has been useless.Needless to say I go in well prepared.

I was told by the police that at least they did not defecate or urinate on my bed, apparently a fairly common practice of house burglars and for that I should feel lucky.

There is a state park about 40 mile south east. Lots of summer cabins left vacant most of the year except summer. They went through a series of break-ins and lots of minor theft kind of stuff. The worst was folks left booze and such. It got consumed in what were apparently roaring parties. I guess some of the owners got a little upset over it. The police said they were watching, but a big area made it difficult.

Then someone noticed a couple of cars they'd not seen before and called the locals. Yep, caught them red handed. Getting drunk and crapping on the floors and beds. So the cops made them clean it up. With their bare hands! Really grossed them out to clean their own mess. And true to form, some of the parents complained. They said it was unsanitary for their little darlings to get their hands dirty! Notice it was OK for the owner to have to clean the mess their kids made, but not OK for the kids to do it at gun point!
