Hi Everyone

Some of you already subscribed to the on-line content for Guns Magazine may have already seen this.

Has anybody have any experience in using the Center Access Relock (C.A.R) System created by Paul Castle? It is the shooting style used in the John Wick movies. I am interested in seeking other Members experience if they have tried this handgun shooting style.

I suppose in a very close quarters situation it might be necessary but......
It's a matter of physics the further the eye is from the back site the higher accuracy potential. Then take in to mind the muzzle flash and air displacement that close to your face. Then consider the loss of peripheral vision with your weapon that close to your face.
Just my opinion, based on real life experience.

Not to mention trying to make quick follow-up shots. The 'Weaver' style has been obsolete for years when we discovered that isosceles is a much better way to miniplate a handgun.

Next time I have a handgun out I'm going to try it. Had no idea it was a real thing. I usually stand left foot forward and shoot across my body as I have two bum elbows that won't fully extend. Makes it very easy to pick up and shoulder my cas long gun.

thanks for posting this. forums are at their best when discussing different ideas, not affirming one idea. i printed the article out and will definitely try it next time at the range. very intriguing.

Looks like it works well with a sirt gun, one that goes boom I don't think I will try it. If threat is so close you that you would have to use this, the threat is close enough to not aim and shoot from retention.

I actually went to the three day C.A.R. school taught by Paul Castle himself back in the day. It was a good school with an interesting method, and IMHO it would be effective in CQB as inside a 5-7 yd distance. I wasn't ready to adopt the technique completely because I have been shooting with a different technique for a long time. I did however pick up a few nuggets in the class that I adopted and use to this day.

I have seen that style in quite a few movies lately. Must work, right. Maybe the Chicago and Detroit punks can use a new style. I think I'll stick with what I know, and I won't use a pink gun either.
