I had just remarked in another thread the other day that I never seem to encounter these in the wild but would surely like to, when lo-and-behold up popped this little shooter-grade diamond in the dirt in the local classifieds - she needed a GOOD cleaning, but for what I have invested and how nicely it turned out after a good scrub, I'm pretty dang happy with it. The PC Magnas don't number but are era-correct with dark washers; this one should serial to 1970 per the book with S/N K964xxx. Action is solid, a bit of carry wear with some possible cold-blue applied to the barrel near muzzle especially, but I'm thinking this should make for a great range and occasional carry gun, in rotation with my 640-1 and Colt D.S.
I've had a few 4" 15 and Combat Masterpiece examples before but happy to add my first short-barreled example, particularly as someone who prefer the SB design on the K-frame and the round butt on the J-frame, though admittedly this is personal preference. Looking forward to getting this one to the range soon.
