My name is Peter and I am a Smithaholic.
This came from a local forum to me, It's just the old model 49, Carried a whole lot, What you see is NOT glare, Just bare metal. Lots of blue loss.
I paid 220 for the gun, 2 rubber grips and a wood set, and a speed loader. (package)
Met at the FFL I use and he charged me nothing to transfer into my name!!!
What surprised me was the tightness and the fact that it times quicker than most of my other J frames, The bore and chambers are like new!
Gun dates to 1981, They guy I bought it from bought it as well, So no history to it's wear.
I cant seem to walk past a J frame in good condition for 200 bucks, I have bought way nicer for the same money, But I am WEAK!
Peter.

Will make a good beater on those hot sweaty days working out doors! And has become my walk the dog companion. At least I wont damage the finish! And I like the well worn look this one has!

That is one good looking Smith. There is nothing like a gun with character!! Thanks for the picture. Larry

I wish I could find one just like that so I'd carry it. Got a ANIB one and so it's a safe queen. Had one years ago as an OD gun and loved it.

I have an early one with diamond magna's, shot I think 5 times. I would love to have one like yours to carry!

I have an old S serial M-28 in that shape which is my most favorite field carry gun as you can't hurt them much.

I'd snap one like your's in a second at that price. I have an old M-49 I bought LNIB and shot it some and carried it for a while but put it in the safe for fear of hurting it too much and carry other J frames instead.
I bet you could get your money back and then some from many members here.

Ya know, it is nice to see a gun that has been used as it was intended. Carried much for the protection of it's owner regardless of how much it has been shot. Shows lots of honest wear and has class that a safe queen will never have.

I have bought bodyguards cheap and sold them for more. I wish I had kept one or two. The moral of this story is ....Hold on to that nice bodyguard. If you sell it you will be sorry.

I have been carrying it since I made sure it went "bang" !
I have 0 interest in selling it, It will be a good companion!
Thank you for the replies! I rarely see any smith in the 200 range, and when I do I bring them home!
Peter.
