Good man my friend. I just sold 200 rounds of .223 to my AFC and I even ate the cost of shipping. He really needed it and I didn't so he got it.

WADR I buy a box or two of 22 when I see a stack of it behind the counter. I plan well ahead. Matter of fact i have sufficient ammo in every caliber I shoot. Never once tried to buy the store out of their stock of ammo.
I have bought the last box of ammo a store has had but never felt the need to buy the last 10 boxes (5000 rounds) of 22 they had.
Everyone is free to conduct themselves as they see fit but hoarding is hoarding. No need to put a fancy dress and call it something else.....lipstick on the pig sort of thing.
And I have no desire to call anybody out about anything...carry on.

When I was in grade school I saved my money and bought a M1 Carbine.
Before that my dad bought all my .22 ammo for me. Shorts at that because they were cheaper.
For the Carbine I had to buy my own ammo and extra mags. I remember the ammo as 20 round boxes of Hornady. I of course never could afford as much Carbine ammo as I wanted. That .30 Carbine was a lot more fun for a 7th grader than .22 shorts.
Even then I was bothered by the notion that my wonderful Carbine was worthless without ammo. I guess that stuck with me and I've always been an ammo HORDER since. I swear I have .22 ammo for my unborn grand kids.

Really he "LYING and coerced" cause from his original post he used such deceptive practices to trick that poor sales clerk into selling him the ammo.
As far as other customers not being given the chance to get the ammo that's not true. They could have gone to the store when he went to the store. They could have gone in before him and cleared the place out. They could have checked in ever 30mins to see if they had ammo in stock until the clerk said yes. I understand that last bits unreasonable but they still could have. The op happened to be at the right place at the right time fortune shone on him.
With your logic every time someone gets a great deal on a gun here on the forums everyone else should be entitled to the same deal. How is it fair that so and so got that smoking deal from the pawnshop. Obviously I didn't have a chance to get the same deal. Why does it matter they only had One who cares about the rules I didn't get my fair share.
As far as what he does with the ammo why does it matter? He wants to sit there buy everything Walmart has and sell it on Gunbroker for a million dollars he has that right.
As far as the moral's of his decision go. I am really not going to get into that. It really is beside the point if its right or wrong.

We could argue back and forth until the ammo supply returns and it's not going to change your opinion and it's not going to change mine. I call a spade a spade and that's just the way it is.

There's a one case 5k limit at sgammo. I feel like I'm being cut off.

Buy what you can afford when it is available. Other people in your area had the same opportunity. The early bird gets the worm, and to wait is to lose out. Or, strike while the iron is hot. At least someone now has a good supply of 22LR. Instead of sitting around complaining, you kept your eyes open and took action.

Slightly off topic, but I bough my first handgun on Dec 13, 2012...along with 500 rounds of 9mm fmj. I thought that would get me started on proficiency with the pistol, and I could by a box or two a week, and soon enough I would have a good stock pile of ammo. Boy was I wrong. I have become proficient with my weapon, but in a hand to mouth fashion with ammo, so I have struggled to build any sort of stockpile with current availability. I WON'T but at inflated prices, but whenever I'm near my lgs or Wally world, I stop in; and if they have some ammo at a fair price, I buy it. I have gone out to the truck and made a return trip inside Wally's and not felt bad about it. I also decided to start shooting my Marlin model 60 again at the same time I bought my M&P, and have been shameless in acquiring ammo for that as well. Just remember that not everybody buying ammo right now is buying it just to have it, only to sell on GB, or in the classifieds a week, month, or year later.

Dick Burg, who is apparently older than dirt and should know a thing or two, has been urging us to stock up on ammo. Particularly .22 RF ammo. So have I for that matter.
I have a lot of .22 RF I bought at $0.02 per round, and more recently $0.03 per round.
I'm surprised that people who are gunny enough to frequent a gun board would not have put away at least 10,000 rounds of .22 RF at the grand total of $300.00 @ $0.03 a round.
I for example have a lot of 5.56 too. But if I ever really need my AR-15 to protect myself, how the game is most likely to work is I'll only need, or be able to use, the 30 rounds on the gun. After that I'm dead, or in jail, or have won the fight.
That is why I've stacked .22 RF so deep, it's affordable. I have several .22's and also conversions for my AR-15 and 1911's.
I don't mean to rub it in, but just passing on my thoughts that could save some of you some grief next time.

Just bought 5000 rds .22 LR at Walmart for $23.00 a box of 550. They had about 40 boxes called my buddy down and my dad. Three box limit but I finagles 9 boxes. Convinced the guy that I was a different person after each trip to the car
OK, my OP. Look there were three people, me, my dad and my buddy. That is three boxes each for a total of 9 boxes, so we remained within the 3 box per customer limit. The pun and the reason for my horrible little smiley face in my hastily written first post is that that I went in with each one to show them where the ammo was and then back to my car. The guy at the counter actually suggested that I do that so he would not be violating the store policy and this is what he tells everyone.
I was ultimately going to keep the ammo yes. So for those of you saying I "lied" or was deceptive, please go find a more worthy cause to sit and pass judgement. I also did not mention that guys were calling their wives to come down and do the same thing. I am pretty sure when any commodity is in short supply and rationed, this is normal behavior. It makes me sick that I have to actually write this long expiation for those who need to "call a spade a spade". You have no idea who I am or what I stand for. I try to keep most post light and humerus. Yet, the internet commandos will take any opportunity to be judgmental and negative. So climb down of that big tall horse you call justice and RELAX.

r1_addict, In the "checked my local Walmart today" thread I posted earlier today that I bought three boxes of ammo and my wife made the exact same purchase. Four of the boxes were 9mm and two were 22lr. That's why I posted I "settled" for two boxes above. Need to do a better job when trying to be humorous.

Nah. What I gather from your post is you bought nine boxes and your dad and your buddy bought what they could get too. Come on admit it you talked the guy into selling you more because you WANTED more of the ammo. You saw ammo, knew there is a shortage and that little part of your brain went into overdrive and said GET THAT AMMO! DO IT! YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT! Oh and by the way my horse isn't that tall.
