JUST HOW STRONG IS RED LOCKTITE? TAKE A LOOK HERE!

I removed a barrel from a 686 years ago. I had a heck of a time doing it. When I finally removed it, there was red lock-tite on the threads. Is this normal from the factory?

Admittedly I do not remove barrels on a regular basis but the few I have were Locktite free. These were however older guns made with a Pin.

If the current Factory is using Locktite on modern guns I am unaware of it or maybe they are using it to keep a poorly fitted barrel to keep it from "clocking".
