Just looking for a straght forward review and opinion

Bride and son love it, though bride is getting used to her new .38 Special revolver (her preferred mode of firepower is a revolver, go figure)

My wife loves her .38 LCR , and will tell you with a smile on her face. "If you can't kill the ******* with 5 shots you need more practice".:D

Apparently some folks missed the little green face. I'm a noob here, but I know who the court jesters are.;)

If you want "court jesters" you have to go to the "Lounge" for that. We're about serious business around here.:D

Ya! take that, Have you seen J's jays profile pic, Wouldn't want to see hime with a funny had with bells and mad.
I might have to break out the Hi-point, the only truely reliable gun as far as you're concerned or as far as you've read on the idiotnet.

I was never "into" the Sigmas and it was my understanding the original guns did have some problems.
I can say that the SVE9's are good to go.My brother's wife started out with one and I have fired it and she has fired it a lot, though she can't give a round count.
It has never had one problem. She decided she wanted a Glock and found a nice 2nd Gen.19. I may get the SV9 from her if she's willing to part with it.It is a really comfortable pistol in the hand.

I own three 2nd Gen Glock 19's,but just so ya'll know,I am not a Glock snob. I think the 2nd Gen 19 is the best and most sensible pistol Glock ever made.We also have a couple of 26's but more S&W's than anything else.
Like everyone else says, don't believe everything you hear from the gun snobs.

I've consider Hi Points before I got the Sigma and quite a few praised 'em but I wanted the name and S&W does make good guns.

The hi-point is a good gun too and an awsome warranty goes with it if you sell it. I lost a couple of parts recently on mine in shag carpeting. I called for repacemnt parts, they overnighted the to me at no charge and no questions asked. You always call and get a person to talk to if they are open. They never ask for a s/n or what happened. they just get your name and address and send the part. Not bad for a $120 gun. All you need to do to them is polish the loading ramp a little and its a very reliable gun. I bet my life on it everytime I go to sleep or go fishing in the woods.
The S&W warranty is good but just does not even hold a candle to Hi-Point.

That's pretty much like Keltec. Great CS service and my PF9's been a great gun. I avoided the value packs and never an FTE anymore. Also a week or so ago the slide stop broke and I already had over 1000 rnds through it. A call and the parts came in a few days.

I know it's not a range gun but what fun.

ya, that what it would seem like. I am getting email updates but the posts are not here. ***

I guess someone is telling us to get back to the original topic.

Bought my first Sigma 40ve for $269.00, just bought a used, looks brand new, shot it today, Sigma 9ve for $189.00 on Saturday. So, I'm into 2 quality handguns for less that $460.00:D No Brainer!!. I admit, my proximity to the Smith and Wesson factory,5 miles, makes my decisions very easy regarding their products;) Having said that, it's still quality all the way around. FWIW,I'm buying a SW99C in .40 on Saturday and a Glock 19 sometime this week. I have no prejudice. Put my Glock 22 up for sale tonite. I like what I like, and like the Sigma series, no problem.:)

Let's see..."never owned one, never shot one, never saw one shot..." soooo...all he's done is listened to other's opinions and read stuff on the internet. Since getting into this CCW/gun thing, I've researched both pistols I carry. I won't get anything, ie, vehicle, gun, refrigerator, etc, without researching, internet and otherwise. Thing is, I haven't seen many reviews/discussions on the internet that were negative. The early models apparently had issues, but (pardon my blasphemy) if I'm not mistaken, Taurus used to have a horrible reputation. Nowadays, don't read much negative about them. The above guy's reply is like saying you've never driven a (Dodge/Chevy/Ford), never seen anyone driving one, never been in one, but, wait, you heard on the internet they were terrible. Your loss, our gain!

The force is not too strong in this one.

Sounds like the same guy thats been running around all these years telling everyone how powerful a .45 automatic really is......"Yep, all you gotta do is hit em' anywhere, even a shot to their thumb will pick em' up off their feet and slam em' to the ground". "That's what I heard so it must be true.........":rolleyes:

Its always best to go with your own experience. I've always heard bad things about the Sigmas. I agree with them feeling good in the hand. I remember when they first came out I checked one out and remember thinking they had copied the Glock. As a matter of fact we took one of each and swapped the slides, close, but no cigar. I've just never had the occasion, but would think it should make a great home protection piece. If its all I could have, I'd love one! OTSBN! :o

Oooops...my bad...fell for it...cardinal sin...pulled the trigger before I was sure of my target...

Methinks a lot of it is just plain jealousy. The Sigma is cheap and reliable, and we all know all guns are capable of having misfires etc. I think some folks just think they spent too much on their gun, and wish they had a Sigma.

Pandora's box has been opened! I love my Sigma but I don't hate a Glock. Most of my buddies carry them but my Siggy feels so much better in the hand....and I still out shoot most of my Glock buddies. Sigmas are good handguns. As far as the Internet info, I have also found Internet "proof" that our President is a space alien, Elvis is living in Houston, Texas, and you are actually a communist secret agent sent to spread discord amongst this good nation's gun owners! HHHhhhhmmm......I'm watching you johnathanevans1990, I'm watching you....

Well he was a Glock owner a g17 that I really liked. He had it painted digital cammo and I could tell it was taken care of. while waiting for my favorite lane to open up(only lane opened was the lane by the wall and last time I got that lane the guy next to me kept hitting me with spent 40 cartages bouncing off the wall) well anyway I said to him "nice one ya got there" i ment it no sarcasm at all and he said well you get what you pay for and i held it you know it was nice and he kept saying it was the ak-47 or pistols(he did have a video on his phone of a guy shooting under water man!) so he asked me what i had and i said "i got a sigma" he then looked at my gun case and said well if it was not for the jams, misfires, bad trigger, cheap components, it would be a nice gun. then i got my lane and shot 2 100rd boxes of Pmc and not one jam not one fte nothing.
