Hello and welcome to the forum. To determine the date of manufacture we will require the serial# of the revolver. This can be located on the bottom of the grip strap or butt. To determine value, you will have to post a couple of pic's. Lot's of knowledge on this forum. We look forward in seeing your new revolver.
This should be a Model 14-2 and it probably shipped from the factory in 1966.
We definitely want to see photos. Please include one of the box together with your fine target revolver.
In the box, there should also be a little plastic bag with tools in it. The tools should include a cleaning rod with a loop end, a bore brush, a bore mop and a small screwdriver with a fluted aluminum handle. The latter is called a Sight Adjustment Tool, or SAT.
Also, the box should say "A Bangor Punta Company" on the top. This was quite early in the period of BP ownership. It would be interesting to discover if your gun shipped with one of the older non-BP boxes, but it seems unlikely after two years.
