K Frame 3" barrel questions

My mistake was getting a 3" model 13 that is in to good of condition to carry. Fortunately I have one of the Australian 3" model 10s from buds that I think I paid $219 for that is a perfect carry gun .38+p HP's do the job.

Good info above, although we need to add that some (and I stress some - actual quantity unknown, probably only a handful) M15/Combat Masterpiece 3" guns were made. Below is a pic of one owned by another forum member.

In the links below, you will see many other 3" variations, most of which have been mentioned above:

Enjoy

These are my only 3 inchers.

- M&P .38 3" tapered, ship date 1958 per Mr. Jinks
- M65 .357 3" - the near perfect carry revolver

I have my 3" M66-2... I bought it as consolation when I split from my then financee' who I'd bought a blue 3"M13 for. I could not convince her to sell it back to me. At that time, my duty gun was a 4" M66-1 which still wears the original Hogue monogrips.
I still have my 3" M36-1 as well.

Dual Cylinder Model 547

I've shown this before, but since the Model 547 came up on this thread, here is a dual cylinder Model 547 with a fitted recessed Model 19 cylinder which I purchased from a retired S&W employee/gunsmith which answers the quest for three caliber options, the 9 MM and 38/357 combination.

I bought a solid 3" Model 13 about six years ago for $350. While I also own a 3" Model 65, the 13 has a better trigger so is my primary full size carry revolver. Put a set of Craig Spegel boot grips on it and it is hard to beat.
The FBI issued the Model 13 before going to autos, while the DEA issued the model 65s, BTW.

K Frame 3" barrel questions

I picked this up on GB a few months ago for $450 and thought it was a great buy:

Expect the model 13s & 65s to start at around $600.

Yes, the 3" K-frames are wonderful carry/SD weapons.

I owned a 3 inch 686 ( cs-1) , owned a 66 three inch from the 80's . Still have a near perfect three inch model 65 and model 64 which I think are some of the very best carry revolvers they ever made.

I've got a factory nickle 13-3 3" and a blued 13-3 3". Both great revolvers. Had a 3" 66, but money got tight and I let it go :-(

I've thought several times about letting the blued 13 go, but I go back and forth...

I'm fond of my 3 inch 19-7 k comp. k frame with l frame barrel

Well I just sold my 3" 66-2 to a friend and forum member " with a tear in my eye" but still have my 3" 65-3. Will start carrying it again once it gets cooler.

While they are expensive, and I could not justify the cash for my use patterns and lifestyle, the 3" 66 would be my preference simply because the sights are easier to see.
