I really like the OP’s gun. It is not “butchered” or bubba-fied. It was improved for its actual use by an owner who used his gun.

That frame cut is looking kind of rough
Cool, they do feel nice in the hand, maybe I'll just leave them on. I have a set of old targets that covers the frame cut. Either way, a pretty nice find I think for $400 out the door. I've never had a five screw before. Pretty nice fit and finish.

If I'd have ever seen one, grabbed it and run like a thief in the night, the first place I'd have run to after seeing that drunken beaver gnawing job would be to my grinding wheel---and make it pretty----might've even finished up the job with the polishing wheel across from the grinding wheel----might've even touched things up with some cold blue.
Then again, I'd do all that just 'cause I'd want to----not because that's how I made my living---and was only doing it to make my grips fit!

I'd do all that because "I wanted to" Dam right!! make it to do the JOB easier..even if I hacked the trigger guard like a Fitz special. you all can keep your safe queens,mines a workin mans special!!
