Found a Model 36-10 Lady Smith 1 7/8" made in 2004. My wife has had a 380 body guard and now a Glock 42. She has had problems loading the clips/magazine after about the 2nd or 3rd round. Just doesn't have the wrist strength to do it. I'm thinking the Lady Smith although it will have a much bigger bark & bite I think.
Any thought good or bad about the Lady Smith?
This one comes complete in the box with all papers and has the score line on the cylinder, otherwise in great shape for $350.00.
thanks

I think it would be a great gun for your wife, for all the reasons you stated. Racking the slide is another common problem some people have, because the small autos will have really strong recoil springs.

$350 is more than fair for price. Any Lady Smith sells at a premium over an otherwise identical standard production gun. Having the lock is good, especially if you have kids or grand kids. Those little ankle bitters love to play in purses.

Turn line is perfectly normal. It's actually suppose to be there. Brand new guns from the factory will have faint turn lines.

If you're concerned about recoil, start her out on standard .38 Spl. NOT +P ammo. A standard pressure .38 will kick about like her .380's. Mostly because the M36 will be heavier. Mass absorbs recoil. It may be a little more, but it's not a big difference.

As noted above, the extra weight from the steel frame Model 36 (and Model 60) really helps manage the recoil, yet it is still light enough to carry comfortably.

Also, grips make a major difference. I've found the Hogue Monoblock grips work well with both larger and smaller hands.

With Hogue grips even .38+P rounds are comfortable to shoot, although as noted above, start out with standard pressure .38 special and go from there. Also, 125-135 gr loads will generally have less recoil than 158 gr loads.

Ahh, The Lady Smith pleased we may be by your company, even more so in your comfort we are blessed.

Go for it!!!

Your Lady Smith has three butts :).

Three Butts, that's good.
The one I got for my wife has only one butt and it is a keeper. Brought her home today.
