Latest Serial numbers on 15-22

like a puppy in the window...

When I walked into the gun shop to pick up my AK I saw this little rifle and thought how lonely it looked in with all of the large caliber guns. I picked it up, and like a puppy in the window I immediately became attached with it and had to take it home. So I now own an m&p 15-22, the runt of the litter but one of my favorites. No issues so far model # DTZ20227:D

Here's an update on my DTZ that I got last summer.

FTE problems started occasionally, but increased through the fall to more than one per magazine. I tried switching to CCI minimag. Then I had some cartridges hitting the feed ramp, leaving a gouge on the bullet and bending the cartridge. I also had cartridges fail to feed out of the magazine and the base would get jammed requiring them to be forcefully removed. You can see gouges in the plastic of three of my magazines where it happened.

I stopped using it and it is going back to S&W.

BTW, registering and sending in for warranty is super easy. You can do it all on-line at the S&W website. Submit your warranty info, then fill out a warranty service request. They e-mailed me a RMA and FedEx shipping label a couple days later.

Picked mine up on 2/4, CA compliant model also with a DVE serial. I've put 250 rounds through it without issue.

Picked mine up today oops yesterday and the SN started with DUR. Just finished setting it up and planning on going to the range today and sight it in for Friday Night Steel and the Appleseed this weekend.

No matter what there is always going to be a chance of an OOB and lost extractor, but that doesn't require sending the rifle back to SW. I have not heard of much being done by SW with returned rifles other than springs or extractor. That kinda stuff or an ejector tweak most any hack at a gun shop can handle as long as SW will send the parts.
