Latest Serial numbers on 15-22

Calling S&W is far faster and more accurate than dragging through this thread. Besides, manufacturing date is much more important than a purchase date. :)

Is Smith and Wesson the only place to get the manufacturing date? Is the manufacturing date any of the codes on the box and is there a calculator available on-line?

As far as I know, the answers are:

I guess I'll be giving Smith and Wesson a call tomorrow. I'm not concerned about modifications that were made to the product, just would like to know. My guess with a DZN, it's some time this year.

Thanks.

The only times date of manufacture would be a concern to me is if I were buying a used firearm more than a couple of years old or a collectable.

I agree with major about it means nothing,I have been in contact with S&W,there response was "we do not discus or reveal any production numbers" I was curious about how many were made for other reasons,so Ive been using this thread to monitor the serial break number count to guesstimate my own production numbers.

ps mine is dtz and blew out the extractor and spring, call s&w told them i lost it and they sent me a new one, no problems since

This topic needs to die, doesn't help with me bumping this to the top with this particular post!

It should have died long ago, but someone who just wants to see his own post would just start it again.
