Leaked info about Shield .45

I just saw him last week in Kokomo Indiana flipping burgers at the local Micky Dees. GARY

You're from Florida too and just up in Kokomo? I was going through there the day after the tornados. What a mess. If I had known Elvis was working at Micky's I would have stopped there but they weren't letting anybody stop anyplace at the time.

I would think they would want to get caught up on 9mm and .40s production first.

Have you seen how low the price has gone online? There are way more than enough Shields in 9/40 out there for anyone who wants one.

Re: the OP's rumor, haven't we heard that same thing pretty much every other month since the Shield was originally announced? If released I'll of course buy one asap but I'm not holding my breath.

Dont look for them online because I already have one, but its rare to see on the any of the local gunshops. One dealer told me that when ordering they only sell you a shield if you buy 4 of something else. So, that makes me believe that S&W has more demand than supply.

IF this is true, it means that...oh Lord, I"m going to be waiting around for a Shield...again!

The announced the Shield at the NRA show, and not SHOT (when the XDS was announced). I would think that they do the same thing with the 45, and announce it when ordinary people can get their hands on it, and not just the "industry" people that can get into SHOT

I ever heard that Glock was making a 1911 and possibly a wheel gun. However, the fan boys havent started lining up just yet either.

I'd think about a Shield in .45, but I'd probably want to try it out first. On the one hand, I don't really like the idea of only a 6 rd mag. On the other hand, 7 rds of .45 is really pretty good firepower. I guess there's always a compromise one way or another. I think they're pretty caught up on Shield production. $359 and $369 online prices are staying in stock for a while. My LGS has 12 Shields. Pretty small shop but packed with guns.

While I'm waiting I bought a Kahr CW45. $359 out the door. 6+1 capacity but it also accepts 1911 mags. Some require slight modification & others don't. Very accurate, very manageable because of the low bore axis, and an extremely smooth trigger.

If a M&P single stack ever comes out, I'll give it serious consideration but I'm not holding my breath.

The Ruger forum has been buzzing about a SR45c. So far like this thread it's just a rumor. Won't know till it happens. I'll be checking out who craps one out first but until then I'll be enjoying my full size M&P.45 with the 14rd. mags!

We'll see if it's true. Would it be thicker though to accommodate the 45acp cartridge, magazine and barrel? I really liked my XDS in 45 before the recall that made me sell my Shield, but I now have a 9mm Shield again and would love to see it come out in 45acp, even though I'm happy with my 9.

I love my FS45, although I stick with the 10rd. mags by choice. Keeps it nice and normal in the grip area with flush mags unlike the brick like Glocks that want to jam an extra 3 rounds in there.

You'll find this at the bottom of every page:

Most corporations have a confidentially/non-disclosure clause in their terms of employment and take it seriously.

I was trying to be nice. But, ok, I'll lay it out. Sounds like someone here is involved with them, else why the warning? Sounds like a stoolie is here, no offense.
