Legislation Still Under the Radar Would Devastate U.S. Gun Ownership Rights

Save your breath. I've pretty much given up arguing with most of the folks here. They are convinced their guns are safe. Congress is just too busy right now to worry about our guns.

Rep Rush has tried this before and will probably keep on until he is voted out of office[fired] by the voters in his district. When the primarys start and the antis are shown where the door is is where you will maybe have to worry about gun control laws. There are alot more gun owners in congress than antis and the healthcare and cap and trade might or will be passed some time in 2010. And thats a big MAYBE. rz625-8

As a citizen of Illinois, I am never surprised by any anti-gun rhetoric that comes out of this state - particularly in the Chicago region.

He's more likely to go to prison... a LOT more likely. It's actually part of a Chicago alderman's career path.

Hey, guys, HR 45 is d-e-a-d!

At least as dead as a bill gets while Congress is still in session. It has zero co-sponsors, zip, nil, nada. It's dead in committee and ain't goin' nowhere.

There's more important things to focus on, like clauses in the various health care bills that could affect your gun rights. Try tying electronic, automated health records with firearm ownership (risk factor). That's a gotcha. But AT THIS POINT, not HR 45.
