That's because the grip angle that S&W uses is the same as the 1911, the best pointing pistol ever made. The Glock grip angle is very strange.

It was never the grip angle that bothered me. We were issued Gen 3 19's. My problem was with the shorter grip and finger grooves. My fingers never matched up to the grooves and I kept pinching the heel of my palm when changing mags.
