Let's See Some Dogs !

They tend to make dogs feel inadequate at the park.

Some people a little ways from me had a dog dropped off on them. He had a collar and his nails were trimmed so someone had him and for some reason couldn't keep or want him anymore. The people ran an ad on a local neighborhood web site for the owner but nobody claimed him. I told them if nobody claimed him then I would give him a home. The people couldn't keep him and told me I could have him since nobody claimed him. So now I have him. He appears to be a Chihuahua and he seems to be house trained also, so the people told me anyway.

Looking at him he reminds me with those bug eyes of a deer. So I think I will call him Bucky. I had to bop my male a few times because he didn't like the stranger in the house. All three are sitting together on the floor around my chair. I guess they will become socialized soon as family.

I wish I could quadruple "like" this post!!! :) :) :)

Made some new friends last weekend, Surrey and Beatrice.
Great old gals, Beez is 13 and feeling it a little in her hip but Surrey (9) won't let a rabbit get away. Both Pit / Lab mix and both rescued when about two.
I have a pic of their best friend Cody, an Aussie / Boxer mix but my phone with the pic quit on me.

It's pretty easy to tell when dogs are much loved and well cared for. These two ladies are great examples. The graying at the muzzles and eyebrows gives them a dignified look, but I'll bet their eyes still twinkle with fun. The way the one on the left is looking away from the camera reminds me so much of my own dog, Annie. It's like, "Yes, well, go on and make your photos, but don't expect any cooperation from me." I like the photo.

This is our beloved five pound chihuahua. She's been gone for two years now. She was 18 years old. We miss her dearly. Haven't replaced her. Yet.

One day my wife says, I want a chihuahua. I said I didn't want a rat dog. Two weeks later I come home to find my wife and daughter giving this little black rat a bath in the kitchen sink. I couldn't get mad because she was so cute and my wife was happy. The little dog eventually became mine.

Funny how that happens, ain't it?

Thanks everybody for sharing pics of your dogs (Loved ones) . I started this 6 months ago and didn't think it would go very far , but you proved me wrong . Dogs have always been special to me . We had them growing up , and my wife and I have owned dogs for 35+ years now . We started out rescuing dogs , and that's how we got our first Aussie . She had been hit by a car and been on the road for 2 weeks . We had to take her to an ortho , she was so banged up . There's a place in my heart for all of the ones that have passed , remembering the good times .

To those of you that have lost one and can't bring yourself to get another ..... There's a rescue out there looking for you . Yeah , it's hard , but they give you so much in return . Just take the first step and go look . There will be one that speaks to you . And then you will be on your way to having another loving companion .

11 weeks old and definitely a pistol!

She's exactly where she needs to be, isn't she? And she'll be there...close to you...for the rest of her life. She's beautiful. Congratulations on your newest family member and Best Friend.
