Lets see those grips guys.

Hi, All:
After looking at all these beautiful grips on this thread, I have developed the wants for a set of real elephant ivory grips, and maybe a set of stag, for several of my S&W revolvers, but when I look at the adds of the grip makers I don't find any making Ivory, and not many make stag. Where do all of you folks find them?
Here is a Pic. of my old Mod. 40 with Spegal grips.

Hi, Photoman:
I built the cases as a hoby, for some of my Keepers. I built several cases for some of my Colt cap&ball revolvers also. Here is a Mod.19 21/2" with a set of cut down K square butt target grips. I rebuilt them before there were factory grips available for the rnd. butt combat mod 19. I never did get an answer as to where to buy Ivory, and stag grips like so many of the folks have shown on this thread.

Thanks for the info. Those boxes are nice!

Regarding stag grips, Executioner is the man to see. Very nice grips and he'll make them just the way you want. Check in the Classified section for his posts.

For real ivory grips, I would check with Collins. True ivory grips are VERY expensive.

Fyimo,
I certainly enjoy your photographs of your S&W revolvers. I am envious of your talent in taking photos. They always show great detail, and clarity. I only wish I could do half as good a job. What kind of camera etc. do you use to come up with these great photos?

I'm a serious photographer with serious equipment that I use for my little photography company. The camera body is a Canon 5D digital SLR and the lens is a Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 L lens. The pictures turn out they way they do because I have a great location in the house that allows really great light in. I put the guns on a dressing bench with white fabric and the pictures end up looking like they were done in a light box. I use no flash and a very high ISO speed so that I can shoot at f8 for resolution. I use noise reduction software to eliminate the noise in the image.

Photoman,

Don Collins will make you a beautiful set of elephant ivory grips for your S&W, and our own "Executioner," AKA Patrick Grashorn, will make you an unbelievable set of grips from elk stag--better than any Sambar stag anywhere, IMHO.
