Lets see those Lever Action Rifles.

What are all these "off brands" being posted? Granted the Daisy posted above is a genuine "first lever" for most all of us, I've always understood that there is only 1 "real", lever rifle and that one and only has to be the Winchester Model 94 in 30-30 Win:D

Beautiful blued steel and walnut, best whitetail brush gun ever to hit the Pennsylvania woods, iron sights (the way rifles were intended)

Was trying to find a way to get Les B multiple likes on his 94 post, then he posts a Rossi in 357 no less....pure heresy for sure.

OK...OK... By now you have all got your hands on the SAM release and have me locked in so I'm going to release the chaff and hope I don't get flamed too bad!

Terrific post....ALL of them pure eye candy. Good show!

I have a pair of .357 magnum lever guns that I'm fond of; EMF 1892 saddle-ring carbine with 20 inch barrel and a Winchester model 94AE with 16 inch barrel. I've taken whitetail deer with both of these.

I really like short barreled lever guns. My newest addition is a new Marlin 336Y in .30-30 Winchester with 16 1/4 inch barrel. I installed a safety delete kit and a factory large loop.

I'm fan of the levers as well. My affection started with the Marlin 39A (believe it's from 81), then a Marlin Article II Mountie (close to new in box, unfired I believe), and then the Marlin 1894 CSS in .357. My last lever was an Ithaca model 49, which some may laugh at but it is a great little single shot lever that is accurate and fun as can be!

One of mine that never gets fired!

This is a Marlin 1895 "Bald Eagle" in 45-70. It has very high end engraved walnut and 24K gold and a ton of engraving. First time trying to post a picture on here so .....

I read where John Taffin said that if he were limited to one center fire weapon, it would be a lever rifle in .357 Magnum-for all of the reasons we already know.

I'm in agreement with this.

I have a pair of Rossi 92s in .357 Mag, a 20" short rifle and a 20" rifle. If I could only have 1 of the 2 it would be the 20" short rifle as the velocity difference is only 20 fps.

I can get 2,210 fps with a 125 gr XTP and that load will produce 2" groups at 100 yards with the Marbles Tang sight and Lyman 17AHB front sight (and I use a Merit #3 or #4 adjustable aperture in them). A 170 yard zero gives a 3.7" maximum mid range trajectory at 100 yards and it's only 4" low at 200 yards, where it still has 1,296 fps and 464 ft pounds.

I also get 2" 100 yard groups with Federal 158 gr JSPs. The velocity is *only* 1820 fps, but it only costs about 25 yards in effective range. With a 150 yard zero, I have a 3,7" maximum mid range trajectory at 90 yards and it's 4" low at 175 yards where it has 1277 fps and 570 ft pounds.

With either load, the recoil is much milder than a 32,000 PSI "Ruger only" 255 gr .45 Colt load, the accuracy and trajectory are much better.

A 250 gr .45 Colt load at muzzle velocity of 1,300 fps with a 120 yard zero will be 4" high at 65 yards and 4" low at 140 yards, with 1054 fps and 617 ft pounds.

I also like the magazine capacity with the .357s. The 20" short rifle will hold 12 rounds and the 24" rifle will hold 14.

I also enjoy shooting lever actions, my rifles, on top, Uberti Henry in 44-40, a Uberti 73 Sporting Rifle in .45 Colt, a Uberti 73 Sporting Rifle in .357,a first year production 92 Winchester rebarreled to .44 Magnum and a 94 NRA Centenial Musket

And one lever shotgun, a Norinco M87
